I agree with your opinion regarding the quality of this season versus the original US-based Drag Race. In recent years, the original series has lost a lot of its charm. The first episode of UK Drag Race exudes the light-hearted, charm and originality of some of the earlier seasons of the US version. Very strong start and a breath of fresh air for a show that has become somewhat formulaic.
