Marvel Movie Night (Patreon)

“So, you want any popcorn?” Alex asked, poking her head out from the kitchen door to the hallway, her head turned towards the living room. 

“Yes, please,” replied Sydea from the couch as she grabbed the TV remote and switched it on, an almost blinding red light shining from it as it immediately opened up Netflix, presumably what Alex was watching on the TV last. With a swift press of the remote, the Netflix app was closed, and instead, the input was switched to the Blu-Ray player. 

As Alex fiddled around in the kitchen looking for the box of microwave popcorn, Sydea reached forward onto the coffee table and grabbed the box of the movie they were going to be watching together. 

Avengers: Endgame

Sydea and Alex were both big-time Marvel Comics fans, with the cheetah’s favorite Marvel character being Tony Stark/Iron Man, and Alex’s was Peter Parker/Spider-Man. So, the two decided to watch the conclusion to the ‘Infinity Saga’ together. Sydea had already seen it, and when she learned that Alex hadn’t, she came over with a copy of the film within the hour. 

“Yes!” Alex exclaimed out excitedly to herself, grabbing the box of popcorn from one of the upper cupboards and ripping it open. She grabbed one bag, quickly unwrapped the plastic, and tossed it into the microwave. She turned the dial to 800 watts and entered 2:40 as the duration. After a few seconds, the microwave lit up, and Alex’s eyes widened as she watched the bag spin on the rotating plate. 

The cheetah flipped the Blu-Ray box in her hands a few times before opening it up and plucking the disc out from the center. She pushed herself off the couch and took a few steps towards the entertainment center and slotted the disc inside the player. She then made her way back to the couch and sat back down, making herself comfortable. The cheetah dressed for the occasion, wearing official Iron Man merchandise, a black t-shirt with a realistic and almost glowing Arc Reactor in the center chest area, and a pair of panties. It was a casual sleepover movie night, there was no need to dress to any degree of formality. 

As the timer on the microwave neared zero, Alex’s tail waved around behind her excitedly. 

‘Beep, Beep, Beeeeeeeeep!’

Alex opened the microwave door, pulled out the bag, ripped the top and poured it into a large bowl. Steam came from the popcorn and filled the kitchen rather quickly. The smell of movie theater butter and salt flew through the air and made the entire apartment smell like the cinema. Purring, Alex tossed the ripped bag away and hugged the bowl of popcorn against her chest as she walked out of the kitchen and towards the living room.

Appearing out from the short hallway, Alex announced her arrival. “Ta-da! Movie theater butter popcorn!” The tiger wasn’t going to leave Sydea as the only one dressed for the occasion! Sporting a red t-shirt with the Spider-Man symbol plastered on the front in white and salmon pink underwear, Alex was ready to experience the emotional rollercoaster that was Endgame. 

With a cheerful smile spread all across her face, she set the popcorn down on the coffee table and jumped over the table to land with her butt on the couch. 

“I can’t believe you haven’t seen Endgame,” Sydea turned her head to the side to look at Alex, almost in doubt. 

Alex shook her head, “Nope, haven’t seen it yet, and I’ve been able to avoid spoilers.” She puffed her chest a bit at the last part, seemingly proud. 

With the main menu of the film playing on a loop on the TV, Sydea held the remote in her hand, aiming it at the Blu-Ray player. “It’s realllllly good.” She purred, taking her eyes off of Alex and to the TV. 

Alex was ready, she pulled her legs from the floor up to the couch and tucked them together. She then leaned forward to grab a handful of popcorn, shoving some in her mouth. “Okay, I’m ready.” 

Sydea hit play and the Marvel Studios intro rolled up on the screen.
