Afternoon!

I've been recording a LOT of the runner up game of the last poll, The Forest, and have already started the editing process. I already had to separate the footage out into folders since there's way more than I expected to be getting for a game I'd already played a lot of for on and off for a few years. The caves are much more of a labyrinth than I remember, and since there are actually endgame boss creatures it meant there was more to see after the main story itself is over. It's worth mentioning now that the game is buggy as hell and there'll be a lot of appropriate scenes of absolute jank, and I think it's appropriate to give it an eternal early access title.

I'm still collecting some footage of multiplayer and some story aspects, since it's not straightforward with the lore and requires you to hunt around for clues on it. There's surprisingly a lot to talk about in the story aspect of it considering it was one of those early access survival games, but then again I guess Darkwood counted as one of those too. Right now I'm expecting it to be out next week, I'll send out the credit question post when I'm confident it'll be soon.

Work also continues on the adventure game video.

However, this poll will be a more dangerous one. Factorio has officially released so I'm adding it here for consideration after the Forest video. I don't dare launch it before the next review is actually out because I know what it'll do to my schedule, but there are a few other titles on there as well from the last rounds. Choose wisely.

Thanks as always for your support!

Putting Factorio on a poll? You fool

AVP Extinction was my jam as a kid, though it has not aged well. I'd expect half the video would be talking about the godawful pathfinding.

As much as I liked AVP, it can wait since Factorio's on the menu, baby

THE FACTORY MUST GROW

There is only one, true option.

I could never get into Factorio. It just felt so aimless. Do X to get Y so that you can get more X to get Z so you can get even more X ad infinitum. Most games at least mask the resource grind behind story. Maybe it's changed since I last played.

But that is the point of Factorio. The whole point of the game is the details. The game is "grindy" on purpose because you're not supposed to be manually doing anything. It incentivizes you to automate and abstract away the arduous details.

i had to vote for stronghold 2!

Stronghold 2 sounds like fun

It would be definitely entertaining to hear your take on this game, after watching sseths one.

Nothing to see here

Hey Mandlore, could you take a look at Battlezone II? I played it as a kid and I feel like it is right up your alley.

Seed of Power

Mandalore, you did this to yourself. You know damn well if you put Factorio on the list, it will get picked.

Oh neat, I didn't know anyone else who played BZ2, played it a ton when I was in high school.
