Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays! Hannukah, Kwanzaa, etc.

I'm glad I was able to get the Space Marine video out before Christmas! My sleep schedule has been pretty obliterated between working on a video, errands, and other holiday madness so I'm relieved it all came together. Once again a huge thanks to Jack Burton/Daniel for his Christmas marine, especially since I was so busy I couldn't really stamp out all the parameters and just told him "Christmas Space Marine" and he made it all happen. I've included the full size image in the attachments, which is near 30MB so mobile users beware, but the non data murdering jpg is below.

I'll also be giving out a copy of the Space Marine collection on Steam, which is the game and all the (mainly cosmetic) DLC. Let me know your favorite or the dumbest 40k lore bit in the comments and I'll contact my resident lore master to pick a favorite on Friday.

Also as you can see from the image at the top, I'm already putting some things together for the future Mechanicus video. There's not a whole ton to show yet, but things are looking promising on that front. Similar preparations are being made for the Total War Warhammer video, whose date of release I have absolutely zero idea of since I don't even know when I'll be done recording it. I'm hoping to have it within 3-4 months before they release a new DLC and make me re-record a bunch of things. As for imminent plans, unfortunately but not surprisingly the Space Marine video is demonetized for excessive, glorious violence so I still might need to take a contract job or two come January, which still isn't a huge delay considering Patreon has been a huge buffer on that front. The Gothic video is still going to be coming then, though Blade Runner might be towards the end of the month or early February depending on how things go.

Throughout next year, I have plans for some more Warhammer games, Mystery of the Druids, The Forest, and some others I can't remember off the top of my head. Metal Fatigue is also a certainty, since I wanted to do it back to back with Metal Arms this year but things didn't work out that way. I lost a lot of time due to the injury and had to do more "real work" than expected to play catch up with things, but it would've been way more devastating if I didn't have all of you here. I'm eternally grateful. I'm hoping to make this coming year even better. While I can't have the October output all the time, I want to be making a lot more. I wanted to do some more mod videos mid year, but once again that got thrown off so I figured I should stick to the mainline reviews to make up for lost time. I know there are two camps between those who love longer videos, and those who despise them for taking up too much time, but I do want to have two of the longer ones this year. One being Total Warhammer, which will be going over all the factions mechanically along with the strategic layer of the game. The second will be Mystery of the Druids, which will be more plot focused and more of a breakdown of all its weirdness more in line with the Limbo of the Lost video. A third could always pop up without me expecting it since I'm still the worst at predicting how long a video will be, but those are the sure things for the time being.

There'll be another Mechanicus stream on this Thursday (tomorrow), but that'll be the end of actually touching video devices for a while. The next update post will be later than usual, in early January, but I'll have more details on how the Gothic video is coming along then. Lots of projects to do, and a ton of emails back from Fall I still need to catch up on.

Thank you all so much! Have a wonderful new year.

Dumbest 40k lore bit: Orks are mushrooms. What the hell GW?

Thank you for existing Mandalore. I already own the game so I would just gift it to my brother or something, but I wanted to mention the planet which is actually a fat dude in fetal position. Oliensis. And you may think it's Nurgle related but no, it's Slaneesh.

Dumbest piece of 40k lore: At one point the Imperium built a Lunar cruiser (a space warship several kilometers long) using only materials and labor from a feral world. That is to say, very very primitive population, pretty much no industry. And they expect us to believe they have the capacity to build a space warship without outside help in only ten years.

In one of the Deathwatch TTRPG splat books they explain that a kill team had a stasis trap register something having been caught. They couldn’t see anything and found no fault with the device so they just threw it into a containment chamber in the xenos bestiarium and just decided it was an invisible tyrandid and they weren’t quite sure what to do with it. They are waiting for the Chamber of Vigilance to decide what to do. I think this lore sums up the stupid superstition and red tape that pervades this universe and makes it my favorite.

The Ork warboss GrizGutz accidentally traveled back in time via warp travel and then killed himself in the past so he could have two of his favorite gun. Ork lore best lore
