The guide video went over well!

A lot more people ended up watching it than I expected. I figured it would have less than half the viewership it does now at this point. I did end up scrapping a lot of "you've made it on YouTube" stuff since that audience is both very small and hopefully has a lot figured out by then. Despite it being easier to edit than the other videos it was definitely one of the more trying ones when it came to organization, so I'm really happy to have it out of the way so I can completely focus on the game videos now and not need to be tallying up feedback and other stuff for a meta video.

So here's what's going on currently. I've finished my first playthrough of Overlord where I was "good" and use a controller, and I'm currently on a pure evil playthrough using keyboard and mouse. This video is likely going to be done in the first few days of March, which is about a week after I was expecting it. I had honestly completely forgotten that the game had some choices throughout it even if they don't amount to too much, and there is still some debate over which peripheral is better for controls. This isn't the main source of the delay though.

I'm making a video for the Metro Last Light DLC like I talked about in both a previous post and in a video a while back. The twist is that it's (probably) not something I'm going to put up standalone on my own channel, since it's a part of a much larger video someone else is making. It's going to run a bit below ten minutes so it's not the most intensive thing to work on, but it requires me to be focusing on it since I don't want to be screwing the other guy over during a collaboration project. I'll have a post linking to it here when it's done, and also a YouTube community post as well. It's kind of a relief to be working on since there was a DLC in Last Light in particular I wanted to talk about, but didn't think I really had enough to make it worthwhile as a standalone video so this is the best solution I can get for that. It's still possible that I get the Overlord video out before the big Metro video is out by the other guy, so this is just to let you know why the Overlord video is coming later than planned.

In other news, some of the "bonus videos" I've had linked in previous posts are now gone by the way of being muted or blocked. It's probably a good idea I cut so many out from the main videos due to a worry of something like this happening eventually.

Recording for Elite Dangerous is temporarily on hold while I get Metro and the Overlord video out, then I can finally get to the sweet balance of working on the current review video with Elite in the background instead of the juggling I've been doing this past month. I'm hoping things can significantly speed up at that point.

Thanks for all your support! I'm trying to catch up on mail/messages since I'm still going through the ones from January, so if I haven't replied to you yet it should be answered in the next week or two.

The contents of the video were a bit more loose and open than I expected, a good thing by the way. So I'm curious what would've been in the "you've made it on YouTube" parts? The typical talk about networks and such you tend to get from other videos about starting out or something else entirely?

Mandy my man I was just thinking about picking up Metro and you're already on it? Good stuff! Can't wait to hear about it!

MCNs yes but also more stuff about audience interaction, sponsorships/disclosure, making what your audience is there for but keeping variety, not going crazy. Endgame content I guess.

Mandy, what's your opinion on metro exodus being in the epic store and not steam?
