This is the first OFFICIAL video progress post. These will typically be every Friday/Saturday once a week so this should be the first double post in a week for a while.

NecroVisioN is a pretty violent game already, and I decided to use the cooler looking cover with the Imperial skeletons for the video instead of some of the tamer ones it has. Unfortunately YouTube isn't metal enough to appreciate that, so the video got banished to the shadow realm which wasn't unexpected. The good news is YouTube seems to have improved which comments get flagged so this hasn't caused any "review Timeshift" like comments to get buried away for no reason. Or they are getting buried and I can't see them. Either way this is somewhat of an improvement of videos turning yellow half a year ago. Anyways, onto upcoming stuff!

If the theme music wasn't a giveaway, the upcoming video is going to be on Empire Earth and the Art of War expansion. The quest to get this game running was elaborate, and the "how to fix it" section of the video is going to be one of the most bizarre ones yet. I'm pretty excited to show the weird Lithuanian website I found the answers on! The good news is that this video shouldn't be too difficult to make since I played so much of the game for so long, so it'll definitely be out in two weeks. What comes after is where it gets tricky.

After the mod video, I planned on finally working on the Elite Dangerous review in mid-June. However it's beginning an expansion season at the END of June, and players have been telling me that a "big content release" is coming at the end of 2018. Since I'll likely be somewhat comatose around January 2019, this might be an ideal time to put more time into working on the Elite video but it would mean delaying it by a half year. There's no shortage of projects though, so I could replace it by making a video on a different game like Gothic, Pathologic, or something else heavily requested that would take up more time than the usual two weeks. I'll likely have a poll next week both here and on Twitter to gauge what people think about it.

That's all for now, thank you all for the support! Enjoy your weekend.

Cut Review Gameplay #1: NecroVisioN

Whenever I make a review video there's almost always clips I liked that don't make it in due to time/pacing. These are some of my favorite leftovers from NecroVisioN and Lost Company.

I picked up Empire Earth in anticipation of your review but getting it running was a pain that I just didn't have time for. Look forward to finding out how!

Honestly, your elite video is probably the last time I'll give elite a chance, so take the time to do it right if you're asking for opinions :D Great stuff, enjoy your weekend too!

Man I hate Elite so much, for blowing my money, my friend's money and our collective time together in it. An absolute joke for a pseudo MMO to have zero multiplayer content we can actually work together on. We were playing around the Beyond Chapter One expansion beta period (but not in the beta itself) hoping it would fix this, but it only gave more things for end-game players to do really, and messed up the already non-existent piracy. If they could ever make this game worth the time, I'd use your review as a litmus test but since they're so glacial in development speed, and they're frankly more interested in the Jurassic World game, I'd wait for the 2019 deadline and be fairly confident my prejudice would hold up.

I believe Elite is more of a "passion project" for them, while Jurassic Park and Planet Coaster bring in the cash to fund that passion project. Maybe they are testing some tech on Elite before bringing it to their other games, I believe Space Forge made its way into Planet Coaster in some capacity. It works the other way too, they claimed that the work they've done on PC when it comes to planet generation is going to be implemented in Elite. Braben is a visionary, sure, and Elite is his project. After all, for now Elite has no competition really, so they may afford to be slow. I hope that the next X game is good.
