We rented Barbie on Amazon

This is a watch-a-long so you do need to bring your own copy of the episode to see it, there is no PIP or show audio. There is a visual cue off the top, a countdown to start and a timer to help you sync up.

My daughter is 11 too, and it's so hard watching her grow this life that has nothing to do with me, just hoping that she'll be kind, honest, safe, and strong. Especially when I'm not there to help her. I don't really think Ken meant to represent a Man the way Barbie was designed to represent a Woman. Barbie can be anything! Ken can be Barbie's boyfriend. So, I didn't take this as a villainy on Ken's part so much as villainy on systematic inequality. Ken was lured by the idea that HE was special, and not just because he's good at standing around and looking good at the beach, and he took it too far. But all Ken really wanted was a little respect (and a horse, I'll bet). Don't get me wrong, there are a LOT of messages in this movie regarding gender equality, but I don't think "men are bad" is one we were meant to come away with. 😊 The performances were absolutely amazing and I keep getting the songs stuck in my head just doing laundry. Lol! Loved it, you guys!! Thank you for a very pleasant time!

Ken's not a bad dude. He was made for Barbie and she didn't really want him so I totally get why he felt taken for granted. She even apologized to him for that at the end. He is "Kenough". We all are. And we all have to find our own way. Cheers!

2023-11-25 08:48:02 Hugs to Nikki. I was getting teary eyed too seeing Nikki emotional. When The Nun 2 came out in theaters, I saw Barbie right after to see what the big deal was. I cried at the ending because it made me think of my mom and if she played with Barbie herself as a kid. I lost my mother last year. You're kids still love you. It's a phase we all went through. They're getting to know themselves, figuring things out, etc. You are everything to them. Another reactor said the way Barbie can be depends on a little girl who plays with their Barbie's. They made Ken for Barbie, but there are little girls who haven't reached that age of discovering boys so they don't really think much of how a boy would be maybe. Some little girls cut their Barbie's hair and draw on it lol. I need to watch Free Guy before anymore stuff is revealed about the movie.
