the buildup to jaehaerys’s death was so nerve-wracking but the way it played out was a lot less brutal compared to the book – it is absolutely awful in fire and blood, more so than what we saw. i wish they gave phia (helaena) the chance to act that scene out with more devastation ☹️ still excited for the rest of the season though!

Helaena is very neurodivergent coded in the show, specifically autistic. Her acting in the scene is a very good rendition of a shutdown/dissociative state. Im hoping they show more of a breakdown in the next episode when shes not in shock.

I do not remember anyone ever stating that the Blacks were "Ned Stark come again"? The Blacks cannot be compared to any one character, as they are more than just one person, and nearly 200 years preceding from GoT. The Greens and the Blacks are the names given to allied groups of Houses in support of King Aegon II and Queen Rhaenyra.

Aemond imo has one of the coolest looks out of both GOT and HOTD, the eye patch, the scars coming out from it, the long hair, his facial structure, the blue sapphire eye, he looks like a villainous anime character come to life almost lol.

oh yeah of course, i wasn’t disappointed with the way she acted at all, more so with how rushed the interaction felt. being a book reader i think i went in with a preconceived narrative, but i’ve watched the scene a few times now and think it’s very powerful!

No book knowledge here. But watching Game of Thrones the biggest, baddest dude died from a scratch on his chest getting infected. No guarantees big characters die in big ways.
