I love how into music Lane is! She’s a total music buff, spends all her money on CDs, and she’s plays instruments too. I was like her in high school, but I didn’t have really strict parents. Well not in the sense of them trying to prevent me from being cultured (they very much encouraged that) and we went to church but they weren’t strict Christians, but they also let me go to concerts and do a exchange student program to Germany the summer after my sophomore (and it’s legal to drink in Germany at 16 and said it would be fine in I did but just to be safe about it). I think I was actually kind of a combination of Lane and Rory in high school, but not as ambitious. I read a lot for fun, was in honors and AP classes and got decent grades (but great test scores) but I didn’t strive to go to Ivy League college. I didn’t have any idea where I wanted to go to college, so I let my parents convince me to go to a Christian university, that wasn’t really right for me. And I had no idea what I actually wanted to do for a career. Rory is so sure she wants to be a journalist or a newspaper reporter (even though that was dying career even at time why the rising of online media and the decline of newspapers)
