So the show had to get a little creative with how Jessica is able to resist Kilgrave, because they can't really do what happened in the comics due to the fact that the MCU at the time did not have the rights to the X-Men, and also logistically I imagine it just wasn't something they could really pull off. I can understand the reason, but I don't like the fact that it's not really explained much how Jessica is able to resist him. Suddenly she just can, and it feels a little half-assed. I don't mind too much, I still love the show, but it is one of the things that bothers me about the adaptation. If you're curious about what happens in the comics, basically Kilgrave sends Jessica to kill Daredevil at the Avengers Mansion and she ends up fighting a load of other Avengers, until one of them (Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel) recognises her and saves her. Afterwards, Jean Grey of the X-Men creates a special mental block in her mind that protects her from mind control.

I kind of disagree. When you think about how Kilgrave mind controls people through infection rather then psychic powers you can guess that her healing powers allowed her to become immune to it over time.
