So many moments in this episode give me chills. The way Dominic delivers the line "it's embarrassing how naive you are. You believe in Dollhouse and it's mission? Just like you believed in me, look how that turned out—you were wrong." Dom is an antagonist but also... the Dollhouse is bad? He shouldn't have tried to kill Echo, but being an enemy of the Dollhouse doesn't make you a bad guy. I mean, Paul is an enemy of the Dollhouse. Also it's always greatly bothered me how much they make fun of Ms Lonely Hearts, considering she's the only female client we've seen so far and they don't trash talk the male clients. Not sure if that's a conscious thing on the part of the writers but it is pretty telling who gets to have their "needs" fulfilled and who is considered pathetic for having them. I could also do without all the ageist jokes.

I don’t think it’s a conscious thing on part of the writers for two reasons: The show doesn't frame it in a way as to make a comment on it, it’s simply there as part of the world they don’t even lampshade it [point it out without dealing with its implications]. There’s also a pattern of this kind of double standard "humor" in Whedon’s work overall.
