The results are in! Poll #15 is completed! (Patreon)

Hello again!

Well, this is it. The last custom poll for MKM is done! I've computed all of the appropriate vote power (and some high tier bonuses), and you can see the final results in the 4 images above.

What can I say: many great ideas all around, and the results surprised me in more ways than one. I totally did not expect some of the winners, specially of group B. That sub-genre of vore had not performed well in previous polls. so I thought that a certain type of enemy would have ranked higher. Groups C and D were kinda surprising too.

The fan favorites were really strong and attracted not only the bulk of the vote power from the highest tier of supporters, but also the sheer number of Happy-Luffy tier supporters made sure that those 1st places remained consistent the whole run. That said, some 2nd place entrants did put a good fight, as well as notable mentions for 3rd places, some of those I even thought were going to win early on.

But don't be too bummed out that your personal pick didn't win 1st place, because I'll definitely be cherry-picking among some of the other ideas to add them myself! I mean, there are too many good ideas to not use some of them, so there is a chance that I'll choose that one particular idea that you loved!

Now which ideas will I be choosing? Well, that will have to be a surprise won't it? Maybe I'll pick one of those juicy 2nd places? Or perhaps more to the middle of the ranking? Possibly even the last position?!? I guess we'll have to wait and see as I'll leave you with that sense of anticipation, he he he [translators note: "he he he" means machiavellian laugh]

It goes without saying that the 1st places are for sure coming in future updates as new bad endings! So congratulations to the winners! I'll be getting in contact with the lucky winners to fine-tune the details about how those scenes will be implemented in the game, when that time comes.

And that brings the custom polls for MKM to a close. As I'm slowly but surely gearing up towards the final phase of development, I have to put a cap on too much new content of new enemy animations, otherwise it gets in the way of refining and polishing up the base game.

Really, you'd be surprised by the extra amount of administrative required in order to organize and run these kinds of polls, what with having to manage all of the back and forth with various patrons simultaneously, waiting for responses for days at a time, trimming down overly complex ideas into more manageable sizes, writing the short description for each entrant so as to normalize them, etc.

Then again, there is a reason why I've continued to run them despite all of the above: it's because I really enjoy seeing all the interesting ideas being put forth, and then the nice surprises seeing how each idea fares against each other and how the votes change etc. In the end, it is a fun way to have my supporters directly influence the game's content too!

Also, it has to be said that some of the best enemies/animations in the game came indeed from all of those winners across all the polls, so they added a lot of value and enjoyment into the game. With 15 polls run in total, I only wish I could've done more of them. But the extra admin overhead and the additional time required to create those extra assets from scratch makes it a logistical nightmare to run them more frequently, specially as a solo dev.

So yeah, I want to say thank you to everyone who participated with their suggestions and votes! It has been a treat implementing your interesting ideas into the game!
