Hello!

I've fixed the bugs that have been reported here and elsewhere:

  • Fixed a couple of broken respawn points of the pitfall at the bottom of the new stage; they caused Maya to respaw and fall until game over.
  • Fixed being able to get stuck/soft-locked inside the room with the time based lever on the new stage; there is now a lever inside the room to open the gate.
  • Fixed a bug that wasn't saving the open state of the gate leading into the new stage for very old saves.
  • Fixed a rare crash that was being caused by the camera script when Maya was moving.
  • Fixed the fetish toggle not working properly for the ero scenes (and tags) of the Ghost Butler and Centaur Girl.
  • Decreased enemy density in the Market Street stage and made some minor alterations to some of the buildings.
  • System messages are now displayed in the game whenever the different debug keys are pressed, describing their effect.

Also, this new stage brought to light a few issues (which are more or less related) that I'm addressing right now and will make another release soon.

The 1st issue is in regards to saving the states of switches/levers in the game. In my mind I wouldn't need to save those states because I wasn't going to have any sort of complex level structure in the game, up until the new stage that is. Well, the feedback on the new stage has been more or less unanimous: having all of the levers and gates reset on death is quite annoying.

At first I was reluctant of this change as it would go against my original design ideology, but as I do want to make some more complex levels like the halls of insanity and implementing this solution is not technically difficult, I'll be doing implementing saving the states of mechanisms for the next update.

The 2nd issue is of adding a feature to the levers and switches: when Maya activates one, the camera will pan to the affected gate or mechanism. Currently there is a visual signal that goes towards the objects, as well as a debug line connecting them, but as many other games do I think having the camera actually move and show what is being opened will help a lot with visualization and information of the levels and puzzles.

The 3rd issue is of adding a minimap system to the game. It would display in a little box in the corner of the game window and show a greater view of the surround stage layout. This would also help with players navigating the mazes as well as orienting themselves to better solve the levers and gate puzzles.

You see, I already had plans for issues #2 and #3, but the recent new stage made me realize that I should bump up their priority of development so I'm working on the right now.

So I want to work on these features first and then make a small release with them for testing purposes, and then go back to work on the usual format of a new stage and new enemies.

This is it for now. Thank you all very much for your feedback!
