Shop Interface is done! (Patreon)
Content
Hello there!
The shop feature is now fully functional. Took a bit more time than I had anticipated, mostly because at first I tried to create a completely different interface, but then I decided to be more practical and use the existing interface for Maya's inventory, since that is more intuitive to use.
Now I need to design all of the exciting new items to put into the shop. Creating their icons is easy enough, but what is time consuming is coding each one's unique mechanical logic.
I want to have new potions with unique effects, such as some that can make Maya drunk or make her lustful for the enemies, as well as new gear and accessories that could allow Maya to double jump or affect how certain skills behave. Those new interactions take time to implement.
As you know, I want to continue with the pattern of monthly releases, and while I think I'd be able to add at least a handful of new cool items until the end of the month, there would be no time left to make new ero animations, which let's face it: we all know is the main attraction and appeal of the game heh.
So given the choice of whether to dedicate the rest of this month to programming the new items, or drawing new scenes, I'll go with the latter.
Therefore, while the shop is done and will be available in the next release, it will only contain the basic items already in the game. Just enough to get some early feedback on the interface.
Aside from the shop (and assorted minor QoL and bugfixing), I decided to add some actual stairs into the game. Before I had only the basic wooden platforms in a diagonal pattern, which forced Maya to jump each step of the way, but now we are in the high-tech future (lol) and these stairs are much easier to walk up or down.
I also added a small text at the bottom left corner when a bad ending is playing. It basically indicates how many unique parts (and dialogue) that specific scene has, and part you are seeing at the moment.
At first, I had a huge text on the top of the screen like "Werewolf Bad End - Part 1 of 3, Teasing 1", but that felt way too intrusive, bloated and frankly unnecessary, so I went as minimalist as possible, so now it simply displays "1 / 3", "2 / 3", etc as the bad ending advances, and when both numbers are equal, you know that the unique parts of a bad ending are finished, and then it loops back and repeats ad infinitum.
Heading back now to add some juicy new ero animations, hoping to add a few more from the suggestion box as well. As usual, please expect the next release at the end of this month.
Best Regards,
Mega
