Jennifer Rose in "Finders Keepers" (Patreon)
Content
Hey friends!
I'm happy to report that I am finally finished with this clip! I have a lot of mixed feelings about it, but I'm mostly thankful that I persevered through all of the challenges it posed, rather than turning it into a b-side.
Fair warning for this one, there isn't a ton of interaction, but I still think it has some cool moments.
A few brief updates:
- I am almost done applying to schools, and should be finished around January 5th.
- The next clip I had planned with Lauren didn't work out too great, but rather than turning it into a b-side, I've figured out a way to weave it into a future clip, since I figure we will probably be shooting again at some point in the future.
- This is the first time in years I've been out of live-action content, so I am hoping to use this brief down period to organize all of my editing tools, in a way that I think will help my future workflow. Since I've never really stopped editing, I've been amassing huge disorganized file bins, and I think it's time I go back in and delete things I never use, so I am not wasting time clicking on things I will never put into a clip lol.
- 2 of the 4 shoots I had planned are in a weird flux, since they stopped responding to emails. I should still be shooting with Syra Wolf in January, and then hopefully Jennifer Rose again whenever she becomes available. In the meantime, I might try reaching out to more models, so that this doesn't happen again.
- However, I still have VR stuff incoming to release, so hopefully there won't be much of a full content lull. I appreciate your patience throughout this college application process!
Jennifer Rose in "Finders Keepers"
Out for a hike letterboxing for fun, Jennifer Rose stumbles upon a few unlucky residents who happen to be living nearby her hidden treasure, not before stepping on a few unlucky stragglers she does not even notice. In the end, Jennifer inspects two of the local inhabitants, bringing one of them home with her.

Self-Reflection...
The positives:
- I think I am still improving my audio and editing skills, working around footage where there might only be one take of something and you just have to find a way to make it work. If I look back on my older clips, I think the audio can be unbalanced at times, and I'm happier with the more subtle approach I've taken as of late.
- I'm always thankful whenever I get a chance to work with Jennifer, because she just brings such a refreshing approach to these videos, with subtle actions/facial expressions that bring key moments to life imo. I really love when she picks up the people at the end, as well as when she picks up the house.
- Although it took me a long time to find the music for this one, I wound up doing a ton of editing to different songs to make it flow together in the same key lmao.
- This one could be both a positive and a negative, but the lighting/color in the original footage was pretty terrible due to the sky going back and forth between overcast and completely clear, so finding a balance between the two poles was extremely difficult. But all things considered, I at least made it better rather than worse lol. I've attached a comparison below so you cans see the difference.
Self-critiques:
- Like mentioned above, the lighting in this one can be kinda all over the place, and it definitely bugs me lol.
- Sometimes I struggle with shooting unaware in terms of giving it full stakes within the narrative, and it's something I still need to work on. In the future, I really need to plan out each of the unaware moments just like I would for all of the aware ones, rather than sorta winging it on the fly.
- I know some people won't like this video because there isn't a ton of interaction, and the climax is rather different than what most people are used to/consider appealing (much like in Those Who Wander).
