Upcoming Editing Trajectory (Patreon)
Content
Hey everyone!
I am currently on the road, so I haven't been able to update much after releasing "No Man's Land," but since I have wifi at the moment, I wanted to check in and give y'all an update on what my next editing plans are. Obviously, nothing is set in stone and I am open to listening to what everyone else thinks.
At the end of August, I have to submit my master's thesis in order to complete my degree. I was thinking that it might be helpful/useful to pump out some short VR stuff so that you could all have some content in August, as opposed to working on a single clip with nothing much to show for it apart from screenshot updates. Right now, I still have one Lauren Ashlyn VR clip left to edit, and two with Jennifer to edit (the third is still up in the air...it may only be a Patreon exclusive, since there are a lot of intermediary shots missing, but at the same time, I figure people want to see as much footage as exists haha).
Anyways, here are some screenshots of the upcoming clips, along with a general description/commentary on em.
#1: The one that I think came out the best, I've already shared a bit with you. The general premise and clip is rather simple. Jennifer is going through her morning exercise routine/stretches, unaware of your existence below. At the end, she discovers you and promptly steps on you without hesitation (the sense of realism here is great, although I think folks who like long, drawn out crushes might not love that).
#2: If the splitting wasn't so bad in this one, I would think it were really cool. VR has been a total learning experience for me, and for the next shoot, I'm going to be really mindful of lying the camera down flat (as well as using tape to cover the lights from the camera, or shutting them off entirely). The premise for this one is that Jennifer orders tiny people for takeout, and eats them while watching TV.
#3: The last one we did is actually the first one we shot, so it wound up having the most problems, I think. In some ways, it's almost like a mixture of "My Favorite Game" with "Lower than Low" in terms of her attitude and approach. She finds you in her yard, and puts you into an empty dollhouse. Over time she gets bored of you, and eventually finds you trying to run away, then promptly moves you back outside and steps on you.
In theory, this should all have worked very well, but we didn't shoot enough intermediary clips to build up the relationship, so it comes off as very scattered and nothing really tracks or makes sense in terms of why she is behaving the way she is. I might try to just eliminate a few sections and see if it works, or just use one part of the clip as the whole thing. If not, I'll probably just do a basic edit and give it to everyone as bonus material, as opposed to selling it on a clip-store.
