She held her breath, as not to gasp in shock. Among tangled wires two red eyes glowed, looking at her and through her at the same time in a way only those fusions of biological matter and machines can.

"Baron" she exclaimed with a shaky voice that echoed in the metal hall, "You know what I have come for."

Asue meeting the dangerous and unstable psyborg known as Baron Hydrogen. This is a classic piece I drew years ago!

Characters: Asue, Starborn Sincaran and Agent of Provostad; and Baron Hydrogen, Eccentric Psyborg Outlaw

Born an outcast and raised on a rusty old space station, Asue never experienced the primordial magnificence of Sincara, nor the techno-bliss of living on an advanced world. The unfortunate child of an exiled contender to the throne of a Sincaran house, she grew up in poverty and exile.

Asue eventually managed to escape that life with the help of her father, who did not know she existed until she saw her on a mission and the Lighthouse confirmed the genetic similarities. Now, she lives in Provostad, one of the most technologically advanced planet-cities in the known galaxy, under the protection of the supercomputer known as the Lighthouse. Thanks to her rough upbringing, she never fit quite right with other Sincarans on Provostad, instead preferring the company of humans. Working hard to prove her worth and productive capacity, Asue was eventually assigned to a diplomatic mission that didn’t go as planned, and she had to rely on the experiences of her rough upbringing to succeed!

Now, she works hard, aiming to become an intergalactic superspy, like her father, though she would never admit her admiration for him!

Asue is one of my Sincaran characters from the Improbable Future, a science fiction universe I’ve helped develop. Sincarans are humanoid aliens (thank you, convergent evolution) who are known for their apparent psionic powers, their matriarchal societies, and the violent volcanic activity, meteorite showers, and tidal forces of their homeworld, Sincara.

What do you think? :)
