Hello everyone. I just joined Scott Paul Johnson's Patreon. I am a retired teacher after 30+ years teaching mathematics and physical education at the high school level. Yes, I still have my sanity after all that. I am a self-taught guitarist from the 1970's when I played in some bands playing rock and roll, blues, disco, country, and little jazz. I learned basic chords from Mel Bay books and some basic scales. I learned songs listening to records and memorizing songs. I learned the minimum to play songs through memorization. So, I am faced with approaching studying the guitar to fill in gaps. Anything you guys and gals can suggest I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Aloha. Sleep deprived 43 yr old stay at home dad of 3 kids under 6. Picked up guitar in quarantine for sanity, and it seems to be helping. But that means I only have a few years of sporadic, distracted, and unfocused practice logged. Been onboard here for a few months, and enjoying learning about all the why's and venturing beyond open position. Hope to continue learning and ultimately develop something resembling fluency.
