Hi Everyone,

I'm going live at 3:30EST, today! And every Tuesday from now on.

This week's Community Challenge is: write something in Mixolydian.

That's it! You can either stick to exclusively mixolydian the entire time, or you can write in a Major Key (or even minor if you wanna get fancy) and use Mixolydian substitutions.

Post YOUR mixolydian creations on the community forum. And remember, they can be as simple as a chord progression voice memo on your phone or as complex as a whole song with drums, bass, guitar, choir, and banjo recored on Logic Pro. The goal is to actually use the stuff you're learning here to be creative and make music.

Here is a list of search results for my lessons related to Mixolydian mode, using my Lesson Archive.  Just in case you want to brush up on the concepts.

Also, last week I simultaneously streamed to twitch, but I think I'll just keep this Community challenge stream a private club for now. However, I will be randomly streaming some songwriting sessions whenever I feel like it on twitch, so follow me there if you like. I'll always record when I've written in front of a camera and find a way to share it with my Patrons, like all think links at the bottom of my Songwriting Process Dump post.

Even without you "teaching" us, in " because you do explain some stuff, we can learn so much from those sessions! Thanks for doing this and welcome to the DAC club!

Creating something from scratch as always been a goal of mine and something I struggle to practice... Thanks for sharing this process, very interesting!
