Hi Everyone! Thanks so much for being here! I hope you enjoy your stay.

At the moment, I've got a series called "Music Theory Monday" that I recommend as a starting point. That series will help everything make a little more sense. I'm also in the process of cranking out a few new series that will help everyone get on the same page as we move forward through soloing, songwriting, more music theory, and general lead and rhythm guitar practice. I'm also digging into recording and production techniques as well! Check it out and leave comments when you have questions.

Thanks for being here!

Thanks for signing up! I hope you learn a lot while you’re here. PLEASE read through this page because Patreon isn't always intuitive with navigation.

Here are the basic components of my Patreon:

  1. Lessons

  2. Livestreams

  3. Community Forum

LESSONS

You can access lessons directly from my Patreon home page, but the platform is difficult to navigate when you want to find a specific video. For this reason, I created the following resources for my Patrons.

Scott’s Recommended Lesson Plan: this is a detailed list of lessons in my recommended order. You don’t have to follow this order, but it will probably clear up a lot of confusion if you do! You may want to bookmark this page for quick reference.

The Lesson Archive: all my lessons organized by category on my website. It’s searchable as well. You may also want to bookmark this page.

LIVESTREAMS

OFFICE HOURS: Every Thursday at 10AM Pacific Time, I go live to answer any questions that might have come up over the week. My fancy camera guitar works in a livestream now, and I've got a lot of camera angle options. Office Hours is a great resource if you've got questions. You are welcome to join even if you just started! There are no stupid questions! Check out my previous streams.

COMMUNITY CHALLENGE: Every other week I invite my patrons to participate in a fun writing exercise. I typically write mine live so I can talk about the challenge in more detail and document my writing process. It often turns into a mini lesson and can be a valuable resource for those interested in writing and recording.

LIVE LESSONS AND HANGOUTS: Lately I've been livestreaming more lessons and writing sessions. Look out for a regular live lesson and an occasional live writing session or hangout. You can always watch a livestream later, too.

COMMUNITY FORUM

You can comment on Patreon posts, but the community forum gives you the added benefit of posting links, images, audio as well as links to videos. When a lesson has homework or a creative exercise, the community forum allows you to upload your work for the whole community. Click here for a helpful video about how to connect your Patreon account to discourse. There is no added cost, this is a feature for all my Patrons. You can find all this info and more on my Where to Start page as well, which is easily accessible via a link in every video description on Patreon.
