I love that you guys weren’t in shock that Light would kill Takada! A lot of Light sympathizers go crazy this episode because they convinced themselves Light was truly in love with Takada and that it was the beginning of a romantic redemption arc. I always laugh and think, “We’re 35 episodes in, and you still get fooled by Light’s manipulations?!” Not sure if you will have a final Deathnote video after the finale, so I just wanted to thank you both now for your reactions! Seriously, for this being the first anime reaction series you guys started, the production quality is insanely high, and I’m sure will be a go-to series on YouTube/Patreon for any new Deathnote reaction watchers. Can’t wait to see your finale reactions!

This truly has been an astonishing journey. Allow me to once again express my admiration for your captivating reactions and discussions about the plot. Regarding Near's smile when he first took off his mask in the warehouse, it was because he saw Ryuk among Light’s group, confirming that he had obtained the real Death Note. I have two questions, and I hope they haven't been asked already since I haven't had much time to pay attention to other people's questions. First, this might be a somewhat clumsy question, but I still want to ask it: Who do you think is the smartest among Light, L, Mello, and Near? After you answer, I think I should also provide some of my own thoughts: I believe L’s intelligence is the most commendable. From the viewers' perspective, we can see that he fought against two Kiras (Light and Misa), two Death Notes, and two Shinigami (Ryuk, who wrote fake rules, and Rem, who protected Misa). L often had the upper hand in his encounters with Light. If it weren't for the Shinigami falling in love with Misa and the supernatural powers (Death Note) that rendered the FBI useless, L would likely have won. The second question is based on my understanding that many viewers stopped watching the series after episode 25, when L dies, because they felt the subsequent content was going downhill, and some even thought it was unnecessary to continue. I personally hold the opposite view; I believe the later episodes enriched and completed the story. What are your thoughts on this? Did your thoughts change from L’s death to the end in episode 37? I have very conflicted feelings about this series. I yearn for someone like Light to punish criminals, yet I also hope for someone like L to stop him. Perhaps it is as Light said in the series: the one who wins in the end is justice. Finally, I am delighted you enjoyed watching the complete series for the first time. I can’t wait for the next anime series and more anime movie reactions! I secretly hope to see the three pillars of Jump manga: One Piece, Naruto, and Bleach, or my favorite sports manga: Hajime no Ippo, become the next anime series!
