Love Haikyu Wednesdays. Lets you take a breath from all the death and destruction from AOT and Death Note…. Three words to sum up the season: Work Perseverance Heart

Elina

im so glad you like it so far, this is only the beginning. it gets better with each season. i cant wait for your reactions on season 2

fox

I am so happy you are watching this anime, I love the storytelling for the first season and the loss being a part of it. So happy the 3rd years stayed, you'll see later what teams lost their 3rd years and who stays really shows who's serious! Season 2 is my favorite, bring on my favorite character 🔥🔥🔥

Shivo

The Three words I would use to describe season one would be: Stressful: The amount of times I paused an episode due to the stress that these FICTIONAL 😀 characters gave me was to many to count. Exiting: Even though I was stressed I was equally excited to see what would transpire next and the aftermath of each game that was played. Enlightening: I was enlightened to the world of volleyball through this anime when I first watch it two years ago and I even joined my school's volleyball team. Side note: I do understand what the third years are feeling because 2024 is my last year as a player and vice captain of my school team. Though I'm not worried because I know the team is in good hands. Very excited to see your reactions to season two and more hopefully. Keep doing what you do guys 👌🏾😁

A note on the adults you see: Takeda is the official coach of Karasuno. He is a teacher at the school but he doesn't know anything about volleyball so he got Ukai to be the technical coach but it's important to know that Ukai doesn't work for the school so he can't be their official coach. The guy that was talking to Yamaguchi is Shimada - He is part of the Neighborhood Association and owns a small grocery/deli. He is the one who has taken Yamaguchi under his wing to teach him how to jump float serve. MORE pausing!! We are watching to get your thoughts and I think pausing helps you pay attention to the show while giving us your thoughts as they happen!

MelanieRS

I don't want to be mean, but I think that people that don't want pauses are just wanting to watch the show, and well... maybe they should do that on their own time, with their own copy.

The call back to Hinata's opening words in the first episode, "A tall tall wall looms over me...." CHILLS! Can't wait for season 2!!!

Amithest

I love your reactions to Haikyuu and how you bring your insights from your time playing basketball. I can't wait to continue with the rest of the seasons. My thre words: Teamwork we saw how from the beginning of the season with Kageyama and Hinata learned to be teammates to Asahi learning he's not alone on the court. Friendship that your friends will be there to support you through the ups and downs. Joy the joy of the sport to the joy of being part of a team going through the emotions of winning and losing and growing through the experience. I love Takeda's speeches though I prefer the dubbed versions better because I sometimes think the written translations lose some of their impact by having to read them. Keep up the great work and looking forward to next season. 💜

I am so glad to have join you guys on this journey and can't wait for you to start season 2 which happens to be the best season of Haikyuu and has my favourite episode and moment in all of Haikyuu as well. These last two episodes were bittersweet for me. Karasuno losing made me sad but I was happy that Oikawa won, then sad again when Seijoh lost to Shiratorizawa in the finals. I was so glad that the 3rd years decided to stay and help the team to try to reach National. Now I did promise you guys that I would let you know why Suga and OIkawa are my favourite Haikyuu and anime characters of all time and why I found them similar. Let us start with the obvious. 1. They are both setters. 2. They are both 3rd years, and 3. They both at somepoint in their volleyball careers lost their setter position to Kageyama albet in different ways and handled the situation differently. Now the important ones They are both hard working. They both have admitted that they are not naturally talented or gifted. They had to work hard to get where they are. They are both very observant. They both made strategies from those observations. They both used their opponents weaknesses to their advantage. (references every episode Oikawa was in and for Suga episode 21 Senpai's True Abilities) They also make their team the best they can be. While Oikawa brings out the full potential of his teammates. Suga makes sure is teammates feel good and alright so that they are playing at their best. Oikawa himself called Suga Mr. Refreshing because of the way he brings the morale of his team up. Different ways yes but still helping their team team to be their best. They also both also have a nasty serve(which you will see in Season 2 later). Oikawa has his insane jump spin serve that lands before he does . Suga has his short serve which takes the Ace or main attacker out of the attack. Once again different yet the same. Once again Oikawa himself said. He maybe Mr. Refreshing but his serves are not. So in conclusion they are very similar. Just do it in different ways and that is why I can relate to both of them and what has made them #1 of all time on my Haikyuu and anime list

It still doesn't make sense to me that Aoba has never beaten Shiratorizawa ... I think they did have what was needed

Regarding the third years, I am pretty sure the inter-high tournament is close to the college entrance exams. There is a chance that you start the tournament and are eliminated in the first round. If that happens, you run the risk that you have just spent all these hours at practice when you could have been studying instead only to be knocked out immediately. So that’s why it ultimately comes down to a choice and many third year players opt not to come back. At least that is how it was explained on a Reddit thread when I first watched this some years ago 😅 Also pause as little or as much as you like! I feel happiest when you guys are doing what feels natural to you. If you feel like not pausing in the middle of a game would keep momentum up or if you feel that pausing would help you take in the moment better after taking a breath, then I’m for whichever enhances your viewing experience ! Additional sidenote: I have started simultaneously rewatching s4 of the show to prepare for the haikyu movie that will be in theaters next month and it’s fun to see how far they have come since S1 but how much they are still learning and growing. This is by far the anime I have rewatched the most, it’s so rewarding every time ❤️

Can I propose a game for you? Choose your DREAM TEAM. By finishing the first season you have met a lot of characters from different teams (Karasuno, Nekoma, Tokonami, Date Tech and Seijoh), so, you can choose any player from any team in order to create your own: - 1 setter, 1 libero, 2 middle blockers and 3 hitters/spikers (you can add some substitutes if you want) - Who is the captain? Who is the ace? It will be fun if you do it again after each season, because in each one you will meet new cool characters.

Thank You for the reactions!! 💗 i'm always looking foreword to Haikyuu Wednesdays with y'all!! three words for me would be: Exhilarating - always on the edge of my seat Informative - volleyball was my favorite sport to begin with, even still I've learned so much more now Entertaining - keeps me wanting more with each episode i think these are my three words for Haikyuu all-round 😊 i have literally lost count on how many times I've re-watched this show and each time I learn something new, its become a comfort anime for me, i'm so happy ya'll are watching it now 💜

Marcus

From what we’ve seen throughout the whole anime it does to me, but we can save that discussion for later on. One thing I will say is, power.

So excited for season 2. I think lots of people will agree with me when i say that the first half of season 2 is probably my favourite of the whole series. It’s a great season and it follows on so well from season 1

Just one thing to add: THE BEST SEASON IS FINALLY HERE!!!

TrianaNero

A basic timeline: April (start of the school year) — June (Inter-High preliminaries [you are here]) — August (Spring tournament prelims) — October (Spring tournament qualifiers) — January (Spring tournament national stage, soon after New Year). Spring tournament is called that because it used to actually take place in spring, but that was way too close to exams&graduation, so it was moved up to January to give the 3rd-years a better chance at participating, but the name still stuck. The author invited 3rd-year volleyball players for interviews and asked them, one by one, about whether they would stay on the team after Inter-High, why, etc. Most of them said they'd retire [likely to get ready for the exams, you're right about it being very competitive in Japan], and so the author had to think a lot about how to make this clearly weighted decision realistic for Karasuno's third-years. I personally like the way they [Takeda] handled it, not pushing them towards either option and not just brushing the academics off but making them carefully consider the matter and focus on what's important for them.

This was the best set of reactions iv seen for this series ! You guys took the time to learn and understand the layout of the game the cultural difference in school and hierarchy! Sooo many new faces and so many amazing games to come ! You’re going to have the best time ! 🧡🧡 The time line will sound a little confusing at first but these comments layed it out perfectly ! PS - 🦉😏 ( IYKYK )

Woo-hoo season 2 here we come!! (My favorite season!!) Thank you, guys, for sharing your reaction with us, it's helped me a lot this semester in school, and while school has been really kicking my a**. Your reaction videos are what gets me through the week! This is the first patreon I've ever joined and I have zero regrets! A heads-up for this next season is to wait to watch the intro and outro after episode 3, it's not like a major spoiler but animes do show a lot in that 1 minute & 40 seconds. This second season’s outro GOES HARD!!! It's one of my favorite songs they use!! Another recommendation would be to watch the Haikyu OADs: Lev Appears! before watching season 2 or you can watch it before Episode 4 (Center Ace). This episode adds context to the next few episodes you'll see this season. Once again just a recommendation please don't feel pressured to watch it in this specific order :)

Angélica Hernández

Hello once again, love your reactions and I'm so happy you're loving Haikyuu so far. Don't forget to watch "The arrival of Lev! OVA" before you start season 2. Keep up the great reactions👍🏻 Greetings from Colombia!

Three words: “Walls” (aka adversaries) - whether literal or metaphorical, interpersonal or interpersonal, each character has walls to confront and overcome; envy, anxiety, and arrogance being three prominent S1 examples. Quote from Seijoh’s Iwaizumi, “Someone who can't see the opponent standing right in front of him, can't defeat the opponent that lies beyond!" “Empathy” - Haikyu!! lets us love something about every character. The storytelling shows us each match is a battle of both skill and emotion and has equally determined and invested players. No matter a win or a loss, it leaves us viewers with bittersweet feelings. “Fly” - "Even if I'm not big, I can fly!" -Hinata Shoyo Feedback: I love your pauses, commentary, and personal anecdotes, even at what some may label inopportune times. I miss the frequency. Your pauses make for such genuine content that endears viewers to you as people. Ultimately, make the art that makes you happy and provides you your own best viewing experience. Always thankful to have found your channel!💜
