Hey heroes!

Each week on Discord, community members nominate other members' suggested items to be made into official Saddlebag items. The top two most voted-for item ideas each week get made, following back and forth workshopping and discussion.

You may recognize some returning item suggestions! Items can be renominated and re-drawn for weekly polls following a week-long cooldown.

Here are the randomly selected item ideas drawn from this week's nominations!

Ideas

1)  Swapshot Arrow  — This glass-shaft arrow shatters on impact, forcing a target to succeed on a saving throw or swap places with you.

2)  Herbalist’s Journal  — This old leather-bound book's pages are empty until placed on natural earth for 5 minutes. Afterward handwritten notes about flora that grows in the area appears written in Common. If you have proficiency with an herbalism kit you can make a skill check to learn how to make potions from the local plants and can make a potion over a short or long rest.

3)  Blazeblood Rapier  — A dark silver rapier that feels warm to the touch and seems to pulse in your hand while wielding it. When you attack with this weapon, you can expend 1 or more Hit Dice to take fire damage. For each Hit Dice spent your reach increases and the target takes fire damage from the Hit Dice rolled. If you die while attuned to it, your body is reduced to ashes.

4)  Coral Crasher Axe  — An axe made of seashells and coral. Over time, it grows larger and larger, becoming a more fearsome weapon. It starts as a handaxe and becomes a greataxe, gaining additional properties each time it grows in size.

5)  Quantumfly Blade  — A rapier with a butterfly guard that pulls instances of itself from other realities. On a hit, it deals extra psychic damage. You can expend charges to make extra strikes with it — be careful, though: you may suffer psychic damage yourself when doing so.

6)  Death Rose Ring  — A silver ring with red gems shaped like a rose with a compartment hidden inside. As a bonus action, you can fill or distribute one vial of poison or potion inside the ring. You have advantage on all Dexterity (Slight of Hand) checks made to poison food or drink with the ring.

7)  Mantle of Fiendish Resonance  — A hooded knee length leather cloak with fiendish runes and a cracked soul crystal as its clasp made for tieflings. Your darkvision is increased in distance, gain the ability to see through magical darkness, and can choose a layer of the hells to change the damage type your Legacy racial spells as well as your damage resistance.
