Hey everyone! This is the first subclass to be released from Year 5, and it's been a blast to playtest and design!
You may be asking: "Griff, where's the last setting from Year 4, though?" and, honestly, I'd be asking, too. It's been such a challenge getting it finished, but it's almost done. Thank you for your continued patience! And, if you were a $13 patron for October, rest assured that your name will be in the credits of it. :)

The Lithic is a warlock patron of ancient stone. They're most often powerful gargoyles, sphynxes, statues, sentient gemstones, or even the mountains themselves. With its power, you too will be able to stand the test of time itself and weather the relentless world around you as an unbreakable fortress of stone.

  • Speak with boulders you encounter to ask for directions!
  • Carve invisible messages on cave walls, or animate statues!
  • Become a living statue to infiltrate a location undetected!
  • Transform into an earth elemental!

Since not all subclasses are tied to a specific setting in Saddlebag Year 5, consider the following pre-existing settings to align this with.

  • The Capilla of Twin Fates
  • The Graveyard
  • Heavensteppe
  • The H'rethi Desert
  • Ilridun
  • Legendary Stories
  • Mirrorlight Caverns

As always, further revisions will be made here with published updates as they're released, as needed.

I was responsible for direction, design, and additional editing for this setting. However, this couldn't be possible without extra help. If you like this setting, consider supporting these other incredible creators:

And all the passionate playtesters!

This release is also made especially possible by the extra generosity of $13+ Legendary Heroes! Thank you all so much for you support, and be proud of your place in the end credits! You've earned it!

Heya! Sorry I didn't see this til now! This got a lot of love in the playtests, and people had a *blast* with it. It definitely rewards some different playstyles than normal. Its progression aligns with other warlock patrons, too, and in general is just a bit more defensive than other subclasses. Your Eldritch Blast works just as well as normal, which is what most warlocks rely on anyway, regardless of their patron! Totally fine if this isn't your cup of tea, but a lot of people have been head of heels for it already!

I'm pretty happy with all of the subclasses that you put out but I have to admit, this one felt lacking upon reading it. Obviously, not all subclasses are going to be focused on combat, but I at least expect something; there isn't really any combat applicable features barring the expanded spell list until 10th level. On top of that, limiting the subclass features to interact with stone seems very situational, akin to the old 5e Ranger features that most people don't like to the point of it being revised in later books. Compare this to the sand sorcerer; even though sand is not a common terrain in game, the subclass lets you create your own, making it so the subclass is not dependent on any DM controlled thing. This one needs revision.
