Peacock's Vanity (Patreon)

Wondrous item, rare
This standing mirror is decorated with peacock motifs. It stands 7 feet tall and weighs 10 pounds. A command word is inscribed along the bottom of the mirror.
While standing in front of the mirror, you can speak the command word using an action to gain the effects of the disguise self spell (save DC 13). This version of the spell lasts for 8 hours, until you use an action to speak the command word again, or until another creature uses an action to make a successful Intelligence (Investigation) check to discern that you are disguised.
Curse. A small few of these mirrors are cursed. When found, the GM rolls a d6 in secret. On a 1, the mirror is cursed. A cursed mirror makes creatures under the effects of its disguise self spell hideous to other creatures. For the duration of the spell, such a creature takes a −10 penalty to any Charisma check it makes.
"Look, doesn't this mirror capture my essence beautifully? I have shaved away those flaws I had before, and shall be the toast of the court once again!"
There was a concerted mumbling of 'yes your majesty and 'of course, your lordship' among the servants. Who could have guessed that the prince—a fairly handsome man—had tastes that ran towards the utterly grotesque?
