Each week on Discord, community members nominate other members' suggested items to be made into official Saddlebag items. The top two most voted-for item ideas each week get made, following back and forth workshopping and discussion.

Here are the randomly selected item ideas drawn from this week's nominations!

Ideas

1) Monstrous Mask — This monstrous wooden mask can transform you into a random monstrosity once per day. Options include an owlbear, a bulette, a basilisk, and a chimera.

2) Jinxed Cat String — A long sinewy whip connected to a black bone bow handle. You score a critical on 19 or 20 and deal additional damage to the target and those around it. Additionally, you can transform it into a morbid violin bow, granting you a bonus to performance checks when you use it.

3) Familiar's Fang Cape — This small black cloth that can be tied to a familiar as a cape to change its creature type to undead, as well as making it grow little bat wings and fangs. The familiar gains a flying speed and the ability to make a bite attack that deals necrotic damage and restores hit points.

4) Shroud of the Unsanctified — This cloak is comprised of gauze and grants the wearer resistance to necrotic damage. In addition, you can grant temporary hit points to creatures that are unable to regain hit points, including undead.

5) Rib Cage — This armor has an intricate bone motif across the chest. You can command the bones to swirl around a target, restraining them in a boney cage for up to 10 minutes.

6) Dead Men's Tales — This gruesome book is bound partially by human flesh with an animated face on the cover. Once per day, you can place the book on a corpse and cast the speak with dead spell to ask one question. The answer comes in the form of a story, which is written in the pages and can be recited by the cover's face.

7) Necklace of Unrest — A thin black necklace that enhances a bard's song. When you would grant an inspiration die, you can instead summon a number of undead servant skeletons that you mentally command. When you attune to the necklace, you can't remove it and using inspiration dice comes at the cost of hit dice, potentially killing and turning you into an undead.
