Btw: the troopers from Hesse and other German principalities fighting for the British more often than not weren't conventional mercenaries, but rather forced recruits sold off into the American war by their lords. Even at the time the practice was deemed scandalous, but there was no way of stopping a German prince from selling his subjects in that fashion.

I still have never actually read this story, but I know a lot of the story as a friend of mine from college wrote the lyrics for a musical adaption that unfortunately never went anywhere. Thinking back on it now, it’s the last musical I’ve done. I played Brom and it was VERY wordy to try and keep with the language of the story itself.
