Chris, I remember you saying you read the Dresden Files a couple of years ago. Are you still keeping up with that series? There are some Lovecraftian elements ts in the series. Also, you guys should check out Ron Ripley on Audible. You can get the "Berkeley Street" 9 book series for a single credit on Audible. He has multiple series that are connected (in so much characters from one series get mentioned in another series). He writes ghost stories that break the traditional ghost story tropes. Ghosts will kick your ass in this universe. I don't know if his works would be up your alley, but it's worth a credit to at least try (not suitable for kids though)

The Dresden Files are great! I bought the first book a while back and dipped into it for couple of chapters. I ended up reading the whole thing over the course of the day.
