Finally – we hear from the man himself as we finish off The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde!

Special thanks to our reader Matt Young for taking this journey with us – please check out his metal band HeKz.

We’re off for a week and then will be back in April with The Painted Skin and other weird tales by Pu Songling!

I love this story so much, and as Chad mentioned in reading his intro, my understanding is the real revelation never intended to be that one man is two (which is pretty obvious) but the more complex idea that two men are one. that without both sides of his nature, one man can't exist (like split Kirk).

Those off-camera crimes of Mr. Hyde are probably more violent in nature than sexual. Most criminals are only caught on a fraction of their total crimes. Serial killers might only be convicted on their latest murder but decades later tell authorities where the rest of their victims they were not convicted for were buried. The story catches Mr. Hyde trampling a girl and killing an MP, so I would guess that a majority of his crimes are violent. If Hyde committed 100 crimes and we only witness 2% of them in the story, then the most frequent crimes would likely be what we see.
