“Excellent,” said the Guardian. “Lucas is coming back. You hide. I can distract him for a couple minutes, enough time for you to… do what you have to do. Okay?”

“Yeah sure,” said Joshua, “but what about my handcuffs?”

“What handcuffs?” said the Guardian.

Suddenly Joshua was just free. The handcuffs were gone. He heard Lucas approaching from outside and quickly leaped through an opening in the wall and hid on the other side.

Just like the Guardian said, Lucas took one look at him and mistook him for Joshua. “How the…” Lucas started, but the Guardian quickly dashed past him and out of the Temple.
