I... I did it! I got all the obstacles in! Here's what I got done this week:

  • Added falling trees that blocks the runners once it has fallen
  • Added centaurs that kick and stun nearby runners when the player gets too close
  • Added cervitaurs that get spooked when the player gets too close
  • Added cervitaur stampedes that push and stun runners; these spawn after a cervitaur gets spooked
  • Created 5 easy, 3 medium, and 2 hard obstacle groups for the "Village" section of the Grasslands
  • Created 5 easy, 7 medium, and 3 hard obstacle groups for the "Wilds" section of the Grasslands

Well, *technically* all of the obstacles. I sadly didn't have time to add in the bee girl, fox girl, or wind elemental, but the monster girls are a category of their own at this point.

And you know what? I'm pretty darn proud of myself! I worked much harder this week (especially today) than I typically do, and that's all thanks to the self-imposed deadline! Without it, I would have probably spent another couple of weeks on the obstacle groups.

That said... The obstacles aren't perfect. They're 100% going to need some difficulty balancing; some of the obstacle groups are rather chaotic. I tested each group multiple times, but I didn't have enough time to really deep-dive each one like I usually would.

Although now that I think about it, I may be biased since I was always focusing on testing specific elements of each obstacle group rather than just focusing on survival. I suppose time (and hopefully some willing testers) will tell!

There may be more to talk about that I'm forgetting, but... I wasn't kidding when I said I worked extra hard today in particular. I'm having trouble even focusing on the words in front of me, so I think that's a sign that I should get some rest. I'll be sure to treat myself to some Taco Bell once my brain is no longer a potato. :P  I'll see you guys again next week!
