Hello again, everyone! Here's what I got done this week:

  • Finished prototyping the rivers
  • Created bridge/island functionality to prevent player from submerging in certain areas over water
  • Created prototype sprites for the cottage, well, fences, cart, tree, falling tree, and bushes

Let me begin by saying: Don't worry! These are temporary sprites to serve as placeholders. They're sorta the middle ground between using squares for everything and creating time-intensive art.

They'll also serve as nice references for a freelance artist, if I can find one to draw environment sprites for me. I've reached to to some artists in the size community, but haven't gotten any responses yet. I'm being extra careful with who I pick here because it needs to be someone who matches my art style, or with whom I can match. If I can find such an artist, my workload will ease up by a ton; I've currently got 15 biomes planned, and if it takes me a month to finish each biome, that's over a year of work on that alone. Worst case scenario: I scrap a lot of the biome ideas and just run with the simpler ones.

Anyhoo, I'm gonna keep up my search while I work on everything else, and I'll keep you guys updated. But first, it's Taco Bell time! I'll see you guys again next week!

Whoah! A house with affordable pricing! :O *Moves in.* Surely no strings attached... like a fully blown destruction model, with several different sprites, yet to be created, which indicate where a giantess stepped on it, leaving it partly destroyed as it moves out of frame in a second with all that effort and most damage sprites not even used! :D ...
