Important: Moving your old save file into the new version causes issues with purchasing upgrades, which means it's necessary to start from scratch with each new update. To band-aid the situation, the first-time launch of each new version will automatically give you 3,000 wine to spend as you see fit (does not work in web version). I'm sorry for the inconvenience; but hopefully this will lessen the blow.

Changelog:

  • Implemented three new upgrades: "Excavation", "Sweets", and "Focus"!
  • Added the ability to right-click on upgrade buttons to quickly enable/disable them.
  • Fixed a bug in which your volume settings aren't applied immediately when you reopen the game. It should be consistent now.
  • Fixed an issue with the web version not loading.

Notes:

  •  "Excavation" is the first consumable upgrade, so it'll include a number and four buttons just below the cost. This is the quantity that you want to buy. The middle two buttons increase (right) or decrease (left) the quantity by one. The far left button sets the quantity back to zero, and the far right button sets it to the highest amount that you can afford.

Known Bugs:

  • During the death CGs, the skip button sometimes doesn't work.
  • The floor sometimes doesn't align properly when craters are formed. I haven't been able to reproduce this one; if anyone can screenshot it for me, I'd be very grateful!

I just downloaded it, and hit a bug. The wine when I click on the first speed upgrade is spent, but it does not activate the upgrade and can be clicked multiple times, draining the same 50ml each time.

Does that happen with any of the other upgrades, including ones that worked in past updates? I can't reproduce it, which means it might be the save system acting up again.

I tested it on version 1.5 and the upgrade went through just fine.

Hmm... In the 1.3.6 folder, is the Save Data folder there or is it missing?

There was no save folder when it was fresh, I copied over the one from 1.5 before I did anything else. I also renamed the overall folder Grape Escape Windows 1.6

Ok, good news and bad news: The good news is that I've managed to reproduce it. The bad news is that it happened when I copied old save data into the new version. I'm gonna see if there's a work around, but for now try playing 1.3.6 after moving the Save Data folder out of the game folder.

I don't know if this is normal but I was trying to to purchase the new updates, and it took all of my wine and I could get a single green box...

Good news, when played from scratch its working just fine. Slightly bummed out to find out how strict the new requirements for the "special" photos are, but I suppose thats what the stomp depth or auto-add to score upgrades are for.

Yeah, this is a bit of a bummer. I do have an idea to make it sting a little less, though, if I can't figure out a good solution. I'll upload a new version shortly.

Yep, Chaosbrain and I have been discussing that. Unfortunately, it seems to be the result of moving your old save data into the new version. This means that with every update, everyone has to start from scratch. I don't know that I'll be able to fix this one, so I'm gonna get another version up that will lessen the blow.

I downloaded the zip and unpacked it, launched the game....and no 3k currency :( Not sure if I did anything wrong, do I have to delete the older versions of the game?

I've uploaded a new version on itchio that should give you 3,000 wine to start off with. Hopefully it's enough to get you everything you need to continue. :)

You'll need to delete the Save Data folder in the game file if there's one in there, but otherwise it should work. If not, I may need to come up with an alternative solution to get you guys that extra wine.

Oh, wait, did you download from here or itchio? The download links here were a bit outdated; the itchio downloads are the ones with the 3k wine. Sorry, I should have specified. ^^;

Yeah I think it was just the outdated zip download from the gmail message that was the problem, the 3k was very generous by the way, thank you.

So what does excavation do exactly because I purchased 20 of it and nothing is happening, I thought I'd se a spoon or something and start digging below the floor or that when I'm stomped I would go below the surface or something but nothing happened.

Nvm, its supposed to add more ml I guess but it doesn't seem to do that, you just start with a higher score of M but it's not staying or adding any of that to your score when you go to the lab.

Yep, you got it right -- excavation increases your depth (m or cm), but not wine (mL). For now, it's good for trying to get a new high score, but the real reward for depth won't come until a bit later down the line. :)
