• 4 Premade 48x48 Battlemaps that feature the modular maps
 • Save Files for all these maps
 • 12 Animated Tokens
 • A Youtube Tutorial

& introducing a 250$ Prize Map Making Contest!

Sorry for the belated content update but this was a big one! As mentioned in my previous post I had actually finished a whole bunch of content already at the end of 2021, including about 200 assets for the artpack for Winner CalmRosie, lineart for tokens, and a couple of other designs. (A pack that has now grown to over 400 assets!)

The reason I delayed until now to release a lot of it is that I saw an opportunity with this latest update to really take this to the next level for my content. I had mainly been focusing on a lot of the Garden style content (flowers etc.) as requested by CalmRosie when I discovered a bunch of new techniques I had been working on and really wanted to explore them further. Including updating my water-based content for rivers and smaller streams. Something that has been highly requested in the past couple of months. I didn't just want to dump all this on you without proper explanation so I decided to put together a tutorial that goes over a lot of these new developments.

When I started testing out all this content (it required a lot of perfecting as I took it back and forth between Photoshop), I also decided to take the challenge of using this content up another level and try and build some Modular Maps with Dungeondraft as well. Resulting in 17 Modular Maps you can use to build any forest or river encounter on the fly. I had actually originally planned to do a double tutorial release with this content and go deeper into explaining how you can actually create your own modular maps as well. I do still plan on making this video, I just won't release it today but probably later next week (or in a couple of weeks at least).

TOKENS

I also have 30 tokens still in the pipeline, which were delayed a bit due to I still do all the coloring myself by hand so the linework is done, I just need a couple of days to finish them up and release them later this month. I plan on still releasing all 40 tokens (20 of December and 20 of January for this batch)

I do however have 12 animated tokens ready for release and you'll find those in the Animated Tokens folder for my Gold Dragons!

My next adventure is also almost finished and another one in the works, lots of things in the pipeline and I actually plan on pushing a bunch of things out this month before I get to making new content. (including my giant map assets and some castle assets). Before I start work on my next contest content, that is why this month I'm doing a bit of a different contest, I just couldn't refuse:

CONTEST

This month the contest is the same as usual, make a map with my latest art pack (the GARDEN PACK). It should feature grass, forest, or flower-inspired content. As mentioned I'm not doing an asset pack prize this month, but a gift card prize instead. A 250$ Gaming Supply gift card of your choice (options include woodworkers like WyrmWood and Elderwood Academy, or really any other tabletop content provider of your choice).

As usual, I'll select 10 of my favorite Patron-made maps (I'm also running a non-patron contest as mentioned in the tutorial) and post a patron poll to select a winner. As anyone who made the selection will also win a patron upgrade for bonus content that month!

CONTEST RULES:

 • Submit a map before the end of February 2022
 • The map must feature a river, garden, or forest
 • Be sure to include your username in the filename!
 • No grid and JPG export
 • The poll will start 1st of March and end on the 4th of March
 • Anyone can win main prize (even previous winners)

CONTACT

I plan on using the DISCORD CHANNEL for any questions, as usual, still having lots of issues with the Patreon chat or you can hit me up at crossheadstudios@gmail.com

I'm running a bit behind on returning messages, which I will do in the next couple of days, as I've been working like a madman to get this pack finished. I hope you understand! Now that this massive update is out there I will finally have some time to get back on chat and make time for all of you!

There is so much more fun content in the works, which I will announce when the time is ripe! I appreciate all your amazing support! Thanks for your patience!

Create your own Ghibli style Battlemaps with DungeonDraft

-------- Contents of this video -------- 00:00 - Introduction 03:48 - I. Terrain Brushes 05:03 - II. Pathways and Edges 06:58 - III. Rivers & Streams I've recently started running map making contests for my patrons where they can win their own custom made assets for DungeonDraft. In my first contest, won by CalmRosie (check out her winning castle battlemap on https://crossheadstudios.com/usermademaps/), the request was to create more flower and garden type assets. Developing these I came to a series of solutions to problems I had been faced with in the past and as the art pack evolved I just had to do a tutorial on some of these new techniques. To make it even more interesting I want to share this pack with you for free and will even run a competition until the end of February 2022 with prizes like access to all my art packs, battlemaps, tokens, animated tokens, animated objects, and even full adventure modules. For more info check out https://crossheadstudios.com/dungeondraft/ If you'd like to support my content directly and get access to all DungeonDraft asset packs and my animated assets, check out my Patreon for more info: https://www.patreon.com/Crosshead If you'd like to come and chat with me and other creators feel free to stop by my discordchannel: https://discord.gg/vSPZHMuHnJ If you'd like to see more of the maps I created here and the adventure I write for them, check out my website: https://crossheadstudios.com/

I think you were right that you postponed the release until better times and tried to improve it. It looks great!

I really appreciate that! You never know if it's been a journey worth taking beforehand, but in this case I feel it really got me where I needed to go next
