A Change in Content (Patreon)

This is the message that greeted me when I logged in this morning. I had heard that there would be some changes to the way images were handled on 18+ profiles here, but they'd also said they would notify the creators those new rules affected individually to give them a heads up. I'm not sure if this counts as that or not, but, to be safe, I feel like I have to treat it like it does.

Obviously, due to the nature of the content I do, getting consent forms from everyone involved is not really viable. Which means that there's going to have to be a bit of a change in the way things work around here.

I say a bit, because it is a fairly minor change at this point. The number of captions I actually do has dropped dramatically lately already. As you can see, even though the Terms updated on the 1st, the rules affect things from October 15th, and, in order to be compliant, I went back and removed all pictures posted between then and now, and in those more than two weeks, there were only three posts affected. I had been mostly transitioning to a story-only format in the first place, but this, obviously, accelerates those plans somewhat.

For those posts that I did have to take the pictures off of, I marked them with a placeholder image, and also added a link at the bottom to another post here that has similar images to what was taken down that you might want to check out if you missed the captions while they were up.

I'm trying to think of another way to easily make the captions available to you guys, in a way that doesn't break Patreon's rules, though I'm not sure if there really is a good one, so I can't make any guarantees. I am sorry if that was the main reason you subscribed, although I've always tried to emphasize that it is the stories themselves that are the content here, not the pictures attached, and, as mentioned before, the amount of captions had already started to dwindle even before this, so it isn't nearly as huge a change as it once would have been.

The Community Caption contest will continue, though, of course, it will have to get a bit of a name change, probably just to Community Story. Most of them lately have ended up as long as a full story, but, even if that happens now, and even without the pictures, they will still be available to all Patrons to read, no matter how long they get.

I'm sorry about these changes, especially coming right after the first of the month the way they did; I had hoped that Patreon would do what they'd said, and give some more warning, so I could give you all a head's up before the start of the month if it did end up being something I needed to worry about, but I didn't want to unnecessarily alarm anyone if it ended up not being a problem for us here. I hope you all understand, and are willing to come with me on the next stage of our adventure here. Thank you all!
