Brooke heard the shriek of surprise from downstairs, along with the laughter that followed it, and, again, came close to feeling bad about her prank. "I've asked her not to invite people over without telling me," her step-mother shrugged. "I'm already working on dinner, and obviously I didn't know they would all be here... And, if I'd known, I would have postponed this punishment, though it isn't like they weren't around the last time it happened."

Brooke was glad it hadn't been a huge revelation, at least. Chloe still looked mortified, coming downstairs for supper, surrounded by her friends, still with nothing covering her Goodnite, especially once Brooke's father came home and handed her the fresh package, after setting the pizzas he'd picked up down on the counter.

"It's nice to see you girls again," he told Chloe's friends, "But remember, Chloe has an early bedtime tonight, sleepover or not."

"Of course," one of them nodded, giggling. "We won't keep her up too late."

Brooke had never been a big fan of most of her step-sister's friends, but it turned out a lot of that was because of Chloe herself. Once she was tucked away in bed, and the other girls were down in the living room, watching movies and chatting, and telling Brooke all about how Chloe had wet the bed well into high school, and even peed her pants at school on more than one occasion, she found she didn't mind them too much at all.

She'd really invited them over to try to embarrass Chloe a little more, hoping one of them would spot the Goodnite and recognize it, and ask about it; this whole thing was working far better than she'd ever dared dream, however. She was almost sad to see them go the next day, but obviously they had to go spend time with their families... They'd all headed over almost as soon as they got back from school.

Chloe was in a bad mood the whole day, though she did eventually come out of her room to help clean up, to prepare for the big crowd that was coming for Thanksgiving dinner the next day. She looked absolutely adorable, running around, her Goodnites on full display; it was a pity, really, that Brooke knew she didn't actually need them, and would be able to prove it before too long.

Knowing that this had been a problem in the past, however, and that Chloe's mother hadn't been shy about who knew about it, did embolden her, to some degree. If it wasn't for that, she would have taken it easier on the girl... She hadn't expected anyone, especially all her friends, to see her wearing the Goodnites; she'd been curious to hear how she tried to talk herself out of the situation, if her friends had noticed the one she'd planned to plant.

Now, on Thanksgiving day, when Chloe whined to her mother that people were going to be showing up soon, and she needed pants, Brooke didn't think twice when she was assigned to go pick some out for her. She'd seen Chloe wear the shorts she'd picked out around her family plenty of times, and, if her friends had seen her in Goodnites before, there was no way the family hadn't as well. And Brooke couldn't wait to see how cute the girl looked, with the waistband of her bedwetter pants sticking up out of the top, like she'd genuinely believed they would be covered by the tiny shorts.
