A multi-caption commissioner asked me to use their captions for this month to do something for the community, so I decided to do an extra set of captions from the community caption poll, since, otherwise, I wouldn't have time to do more than one this month. I realize the poll isn't over yet, but 'Slow female regression' is so far ahead, I can't imagine it won't win, so I figured I'd go ahead and get it done ahead of time, since Christmas is coming up and my free time will be getting much tighter for the next week or so. There will be another community caption going up in a couple days, hopefully, with whatever the second place winner on the poll winds up being!

"Are you sure that's my final grade?" Kim asked, staring up at her professor, trying to strike the perfect balance between innocent and seductive, unsure which approach would appeal to him more. "Isn't there anything I can do for some extra credit? I really need to pass this class, or I won't graduate on time!"

The professor looked skeptical at first, then, after a long, tense moment, his expression softened. "There is one thing I could use a little help with," he admitted. "I've been trying to find the right person, but nobody seems right for it..."

"I can handle it!" Kim exclaimed. "I mean... I'm sure I can... Whatever it is..."

He never did explain it fully, not even as he injected her. "Don't worry, it's harmless," he told her. "Just let me know if you notice anything... strange."

It certainly worried her, not knowing what, if anything, to expect. At first, she almost wished he'd asked for something more salacious, just because then she would have known what she was getting into, and it would have been over quickly. As the days wore on, however, and there was nothing to report, she realized she had gotten off easy... Maybe the professor had known it wouldn't do anything, and had been taking mercy on her, pretending that she was helping him with some secret project. Or maybe he got off on injecting weird liquids into his students.

She finished up the rest of her classes for the semester, then headed home for the break, nearly forgetting about the bargain she'd had to make to ensure she passed everything. There was only one more semester to go, and she'd be done, ready to head out into the real world, get a job, live on her own... All the things she'd been wanting to do all of her life, that her entire school life had been leading up to.

Only, now, knowing that was only months away, the thought of all that suddenly started feeling less exciting and more... scary. Was it just the fact that it felt real now, since the classes she'd signed up for, the last ones required for her degree, all sounded relatively easy, and she had no doubt she'd be able to pass them with flying colors? Total independence as a distant concept was great; having it staring her in the face, it suddenly wasn't quite as appealing.

It didn't help that there was nobody she felt she could talk to about it. She was so afraid her friends and family would think it was silly to worry about that - after all, she knew, without a doubt, that she was an adult now, and this was all stuff that adults had to do. Her parents, especially, were always talking about how proud they were of her for sticking with it this long, and being so close to seeing it through.

"Are you biting your nails again?" her mother asked one night, as Kim sat at the dinner table, swinging her legs back and forth nervously.

"No!" Kim answered automatically, sliding her hands into her lap. Thankfully, her mom left it at that and changed the subject; Kim forgot all about it by the end of the meal, but, sure enough, later that night, she caught herself nibbling on her thumbnail as she played on her phone.

"It's only nerves," she told herself as she crawled under her covers, surprised at just how early she had been getting sleepy lately. That was probably a result of the same thing, she reasoned. Once school started, she'd have all that to take her mind off this, and then things would go back to normal.
