Episode 2 Release date announcement (Patreon)

Beta testing has started and it's going very well.

The testers are working fast and my proof reader has finished his tasks already.

Given what's left to do for the testers, I'm confident in announcing the following release dates.


For $25 patrons: Saturday, May 4

For $10 patrons: Tuesday, May 7

For $5  patrons: Saturday, May 18


There's been a lot of fixes with the previous version (v0.1.1), but you should be able to continue from your saved game if you saved at this screen:

I cannot guarantee that any other saves than the ones made at this screen works. This is how it will be for future updates as well.

So, if you want to prepare for the release, make sure that you have your games saved at this screen and you're good to go.

Thank you for your patience! This is the first time I do this whole "big update" concept.

It has been challenging, but I'm very proud of the end result.

Damn this is harder than I thought, ok here it goes.. well first of all quality of this game and size are out of this world, sure some lights, couple of renders and few lines sucked a bit but that's to be expected in huge project like this one. Props for all hard work but im disappointed in you @DrPinkCake, normally every discussion i have you are in my top 5 so one of the Kings of this genre but that second update and all of those forced decisions, tell me why bother with that illusion of a choice if you anyway going with your own direction? i never believed i will fast-forward anything that comes from under your hand and because of that it hurt even more. just wanted to see Josy and I was done. i dont know why you did that but it's not you and i hope you will respect your own rules in the future. cheers for your hard work i believe most of your fans are in heaven right now.

A novel has a story, hence the word Visual novel. To expect total freedom from it would be to expect a book to have other dimensions as well. I don't think you can fathom the amount of effort it takes to make branches that will last for a game that has over 10 updates. There needs to be joint events for it to work. The choices do matter and they will even matter more in future updates. This game isn't 100% about Josy, or any other main girl or side character. It's about a young MC growing up facing challenges that arise from love, being naive, making stupid choices etc. I don't believe that anything in the synopsis or presentation has been deceiving that way. You may have wished for the game to be different, but this is what I want it to be. I can't please everyone and, for you, I believe a sandbox game is more what you're looking for. This game is not it.

first of all hi, i appreciate the fact you take the time for response. i want to say that im not hating here, im a big fan for the longest time, back in the glourious times of AL. so back at it, i agree freedom is nice but not necessary to be honest, what im talking about here are the rules you set up yourself, thats what any world we build needs, but when you start to bend those rules because any reason from personal say so to deep story related grounds it will raise the question "why", "why even bother" with the option. Thats why when you implement choices and than choose yourself when they matter and when not you taking back that one thing that really matters. well im a little guy when it comes to developing, just started to wet my fingers but im working on something for months now and who knows maybe i never release anything but that said i think i have micro idea how it works and could work and thats why im noticing more than typical fan (i hope) oh i know its not about Josy or any other girl, i see the main goal and thats what i always appreciate, im not a big fan of games that are just about fucking, its boring and there are better ways\easier for that. what makes the game great? visuals? girls? sex? or the story? im your fan because you appreciate the bigger picture, and when someone would took out sex from your games its still fun and i would enjoy them. and here we are again with the choices, so you want him to be stupid and young and mix his dump decisions with the possibility for us to make some of them? its doesnt make any sense, choice is a choice.. yes or no situation if he\you are in control of the decisions and then some of them you left for us well this is where my problem lies, then all of it its just the allusion of having any control and thats how i felt with this update. you even teased not agreeing to some stuff, but in the end it doesnt matter i dont want to spoil anything for everyone so i just say Maya situation, there is no choice is there? you see when im going with this? God no, i dont want you or the game to be different, your style is what adore the most, thats why you are on top of the food chain. oh i know believe me, i know there is no way to please everyone and thats not why im here, to please myself (heh)...im just here to say that implementing the choice and than force most of the decisions anyway wasnt my best expirience, well it never is. As i said im not here to hate or make you feel bad, i would never forgive myself, just a friendly-neighborhood opinion of a fan and no i dont believe mixing VN and sandbox is a good idea, im not even implementing a map into my own thing but what im doing and working hard on is giving a choice because thats whats amazing about those games right? isnt that the reason we are doing it? isnt that what AL was all about and why is was so great?

Some events must be forced for the sake of a story. It has a bigger picture. By allowing full control of choices and outcomes things that are to come won't work and would cause a mess of branching. It's hard to explain this without spoiling, going into details of the way the game has been planned and more. Just like how Megan was a main branch in AL, events that happen with some girls are in BADIK. That's how the story is built and how it will continue. It's ok to not like it, but if I take that away I wouldn't know where to go with the game from a "bigger picture" perspective. Maybe you will understand this later in the game, maybe you never will see it my way. Good luck in creating your own game, it's fun and you will face similar challenges and perhaps even reflect on this conversation at some point. For now, just decide if this way of telling a story is or isn't for you. Given your current reaction, I don't think you will like future updates either. Best regards

i understand and in spite of all that im glad, you have your own vision and i always respect that. i dont think full control is what player needs but some of the choices that matters come a long way even if they cost a freaking load of work (personal opinion), any other way you are just along for the ride which is fine in some cases i guess. yeah dont spoil it for me i know you dirty mind and im not dropping it, i just cant it wouldn't be fair before i see it all through, yeah all that big picture crap we mentioned. i do like you, i do like your game, choices are just my weakness and i cant help it. Josy needs me i cant let her down and i promise if you do something to her i will kick your ass :P keep up good work dPC

PinkCake - that update was out of this world. You've clearly delivered what you promised, but that's not surprising at all. The game was well-balanced. I appreciate that there's something sinister going on, and that things are about to get a lot darker. Still, you also found a chance to insert some truly funny scenes here and there, so that the game is not overly dramatic. You're one of the best out there, and it's not just because of the renders and animations: you provide consistent status updates, good character development, polls to vote on, and a quality product that has high replay value even in this unfinished state. You know how to do what you want and satisfy your followers while you're at it. Excellent job.
