The only reason I found the game was through f95zone honestly. There's small adult forums and a few uncommon blogs which advertise and list the various patreon pages and stuff for adult games, but honestly stuff like F95Zone and other piracy websites are the best advertising. They're well trafficked and generally give honest reviews about the various games out there. Beyond that though, no matter what protection is added someone will find a way around it, there's no way to add foolproof DRM if the game is also meant to be playable since at some point it has to be decrypted or unlocked.

I like f95zone, cause it shares my page, you know. The problem appears when I post some news and updates on reddit, someone posts torrent link immediately in the same thread. So everybody who saw this, doesn't follow my page, you know. This is unfair. As you know, all previous builds become public and I'm not interested in "unbreakable DRM". It will be enough, if it protects the game for a week at least.

Heh, that's actually the reason why I only stick to f95zone, they link the patreon pages. If I like a game I usually try to give them a bit of money I can spare. They also have reliable links, and none of the linkshare bullshit with annoying advertising. I just wish they had a section for non-English games.

and if a download link is up and the creator doesn't want it there most mods will be good people and take off the download

The piracy don't actually affect to much the game development. PC games are not a vital product, so people, who can't afford/don't want to pay will just skip this game if they are not able to get it for free. So, IMHO, you will just lose some of the game auditory, who could possible became supporters in the future, and gain almost nothing. And , if you still are going to add a protection, please, don't make it annoying, as ADs, for example :)

I'm not planning to add ADs or anything annoying. I don't want to bring any kind of inconvenience for the fair players, you know.

Solstorm

Who are the fair players? If they are Patrons, then they would not see the Ads as they will have a password to Stop the Ads. And never see them. The non-supporters only, get the Ads. But I understand your frustration. What can you do to stop Piracy? There seems to be no mechanism to stop it. And how are the Pirates getting the game?

and there's a lower chance of viruses since the mirror's are pretty tightly controlled; Another reason why I wish they had japanese hentai games on there too :( I feel like my threads turning into a 'why f95zone is good' advertising thing. :P Think the best way to prevent your game from being pirated on f95zone specifically is to post your public versions on there yourself, your game will probably still be pirated but people are more likely to download your public version from there than anywhere else since it's so much more secure.

Make a ingame note for those who aren't patreons to support your game, like a TOS style that says people are leaking the game too early and put a count down so they can read it properly when they start the game, its clearly impossible to protect the game if there's a snake within your patrons, they'll just leak it out, TBH I have been getting your games via f95zone but for some time, it annoyed the hell out of me because no one is updating it, so I saw a $5 tier which is a great deal, so now I became your patron. :) keep building an audience...
