Gunwale has slowed down because I am struggling/making slow progress with a couple of the elements. It's feeling a little too much like work at the moment which considering how much actual work is sucking up my creative energy is a big deal. I need to do something simpler and fun to recharge (also note: the work stuff is really cool if you like orange stuff but it's also pretty draining. You just need to put 2 and 2 together to know what I'm talking about:)

So for a little mental break from the hard stuff, because I was looking though old art on the weekend, I'm going to do a short Blade Kitten manga story in black and white. For no other reason than fun. I'm aiming for 6 pages but it might go longer if I also stretch out storytelling full-on manga style (so not a lot of backgrounds most of the time.) We'll see how it goes I might get bored of it before I get up to speed. Whatever I'm doing it until it stops being fun.

Here's a quick test I did this morning in Clip Studio Paint - Also a good excuse to really learn the comic features there.

I have no idea what you mean by the orange stuff xD UNLESS you mean something about.... 👀 Either way, I think it's good you're taking breaks. I really know what you mean...I do a regular daytime job, which also drains my creative energy, next to just my energy in general... It's funny because I'm working on a big project for myself too, but I took a break right now to work on something else. It's refreshing. Because with refreshed eyes...I saw a lot of problems right away in said project. :x ugh. Anyway, Kit looks cool! Manga style it feels like :D It's always awesome to see your speedpaints. (Also related, but one day I'd love to know how you 'atomize' line coloring, I'm doing that manually, but it takes a lot of time ;_;)
