The Young Wolf's Journey: Chapter 4 choice preview/discussion thread (Patreon)
Content
The trap sprung by Robb and his combined might of the North and the Reach has led to the defeat of Tywin Lannister. Robb and his advisors will soon decide where to turn the army's attention next, but first comes the celebration of their victory. How does the king celebrate slaying the lion?
Take Dacey Mormont into his bedroll (but remember Margaery's request)
Dacey suggests that she wouldn't mind spending the night with her king and his cock, which she's thought of often since she took part in the bedding on his wedding night. Robb remembers that his wife gave him her permission to satisfy his lust without guilt while he was away and decides to accept Margaery's invitation, but he also abides by her wishes and takes care not to spend his seed inside of the lady bear.
When he mentions his concerns to Dacey, she shows him another hole he can use
Robb is interested in Dacey's offer, but his concerns over potentially fathering a bastard make him hesitant to accept. The powerful female warrior happily invites Robb to fuck her arse instead.
A healer from Volantis catches his eye
He's not interested in any camp follower, and taking one of his trusted protectors like Dacey into his bed seems like a bad idea to him. But when Robb spots a pretty dark-haired woman named Talisa treating the wounds of his men and the Lannisters alike, he's intrigued by her. She might not climb into his bed right away, but he feels compelled to get to know her better.
Robb has a female camp follower suck him off while he composes a letter
Robb's allies and followers must be informed of their victory and Tywin's death, so after meeting with his advisors he works on sending a letter to them. But when a pretty camp follower from the Reach offers to keep him company, he decides to have her use her mouth on him while he works.
The king strokes himself while remembering his wedding night with Margaery
Even if his wife had given him permission to take others into his bed while he was gone, Robb chooses to spend the night alone. Recalling with great detail his second time with Margaery, when he'd taken her on her hands and knees like a true wolf, offers more than enough to excite him while he uses his hand.
Robb passes the night alone, but Theon enjoys the company of multiple camp followers
Serious Robb chooses not to take anyone into his bed, but Theon would never deny himself the chance to enjoy the company of women. There are plenty of pretty camp followers around, and the handsome man from the Iron Islandsinvites several of them to celebrate the success of the battle with him.
So as you've seen, at this point I intend for the actual choice in this chapter to cover some smuttiness (or perhaps something flirtatious rather than straight to the smut, if the Talisa option wins) in between the defeat of Tywin and whatever comes next. You're welcome to make comments/suggestions on that if you like, but I'll also mention some thoughts on the next actual movement of the army and open that up for feedback as well.
-Obviously there's Stannis to consider. I intend to write a King's Landing scene in this chapter where Stannis will dictate a letter to be written to Robb and Margaery, effectively demanding their surrender and potentially also offering an exchange of Sansa for Jaime. That feels like an offer Robb might be willing to accept now that Tywin is dead and Jaime perhaps doesn't have quite as much value as a prisoner. Maybe part of this could be Stannis actually inviting Robb into King's Landing and/or a parley in a neutral location to talk peace terms? Even if Stannis is the next focus of the war for Robb, I'm unsure if it should jump straight to an assault on King's Landing or if we should explore another direction like this.
-Tywin is dead and the main Lannister host got smashed, but that doesn't mean the Lannisters themselves are gone. Theoretically the army being raised by Stafford Lannister could still be in play I believe since Robb was attempting to treat with Renly, though I suppose Robb's troops could still have taken care of that even with him gone. But even if Staffordwas out of the picture there would still be Casterly Rock itself. I'm unclear on who would command the Rock at this time--Kevan, maybe?--but I would assume that marching on the Rock and demanding the unconditional surrender of the Lannisters should at least be presented as an option even if the remnants don't feel like much of a threat at this point with Tywin dead and his main force broken.
-There's the Iron Islands to consider. They haven't been referenced yet, but I would assume that Balon has still carried out his planned invasion of the north while Robb and his army fought their war in the south. I don't believe that they would attempt to take Winterfell itself in this story, since as far as I remember that was strictly a Theon decision, and one that Asha berates him for as tactically stupid. But presumably there's still a raid on the Stony Shore, Victarion still takes the Iron Fleet to capture Moat Cailin and Asha still takes Deepwood Motte. It could be argued that there's not quite the same degree of urgency for Robb to get back north if Winterfell hasn't been taken, but there would still be pressure to respond to this assault on his homeland, and obviously the northern army would be eager to get back. Perhaps there could be a splitting of forces here, with a portion of the army going back north while the rest focuses on Stannis?
-Dorne has remained out of the conflict, but Robb might look to negotiate with them now. Stannis could potentially seek a betrothal agreement with them (Shireen for Quentyn, maybe, since I think Trystane and Myrcella would still have been agreed to here.) It might be prudent for Robb to write them, if not send someone to Dorne as an emissary. (Maybe Theon?)
Those are some of the things that occur to me as I consider the various moving pieces here and how things could progress, but by all means I encourage anything that anyone has to say. Getting started on this has helped me appreciate just how many factors there are to consider in this series; no wonder George gets himself tied up in knots! Obviously I'm going to try and avoid getting as bogged down in the details. but I'm sure there are still a bunch of things I'm overlooking, so I definitely want to hear any points you guys might bring up as we make our way through this.
