Yeah, like I said, Ash gets progressively better as a trainer with each season. Wait until you see some of the insane strategies he comes up with in the following seasons. Oh and just by the way, Pokémon openings can be a bit...unreliable. Some of the stuff in them do happen. But then just as much as stuff doesn’t happen and is kinda just there to be there.
