Bodom lake murders although it has been done by other channels, I had to do it because the story blew me away when I read about it in an English paper (Id never heard about it) and I thought (being completely honest) the other channels sucked and people needed something better on youtube.  This for me is one of the most intricate cases I have ever read about, although simplistic in its motivation "Lust" "Revenge" "Jealousy" most murders have these at its core but this seemed to have more.  On 5th June 1960 in Finland three teenagers were found dead on the shores of Lake Bodom and one injured, just outside of  the capital Helsinki, in a small area known as Espoo popular with campers and naturalists. Between 4 and 6 in the morning someone stabbed and beat them to death leaving only one survivor and the biggest unsolved murder mystery in Finnish history and a case that is still widely discussed to this day.  After the brutal attacks, the killer stole several personal items from the victims, including their wallets and multiple articles of clothing. Gustafsson’s shoes and some of the stolen clothing, were found about a half-mile from the crime scene. Several of the other personal items, along with the murder weapons were never found.  But were the stolen items just a cover up? Why would someone steal someone's shoes? It's not like were talking the days of designer trainers, were talking about a shitty old pair of leather shoes. Also why was the only survivor unable to remember what happened and found on the outside of the tent while all his friends lay dead inside?  The killer had not injured the victims from inside the tent, but instead had attacked the occupants from outside with a knife and an unidentified blunt instrument through the sides of the tent (believed to be the knife the teens used to fish with and the hammer they put up the tent with). The murder weapons have never been located. The killer had taken several items detectives found puzzling, including the keys to the motorcycles, which were themselves left behind. Gustafsson's (the teen who survived with minor injuries) shoes were later discovered partially-hidden approximately 500 meters from the murder site. Police did not seal the site and record the details of the scene (later seen as a major error) and almost immediately allowed a large number of police and other people to trample over and disturb the vital evidence. The mistake was further exacerbated by calling in soldiers to assist with the search around the lake for the missing possessions, several of which were never found.  Björklund, Gustafsson's girlfriend, was found undressed from the waist down and was lying on top of the tent, and had suffered the most injuries out of all of the victims. She was stabbed multiple times after her death, whilst the other two teenagers were slain with very little brutality. Nils was also found lying on the top of the tent.

Lake Bodom Murders | Murder by Design #11

P.S I realise the case is more complex than this, but naritive wise I am using the prosucuters case and the info provided from that to make this film.
