Julio Pérez Silva is a Chilean serial killer who took the lives of 14 young woman between 1998 and 2001. Known as the Psychopath from Alto Hospicio because it was the name of the small shanty village he took most of his victims from, on the outskirts of Iquique , hence his nickname. His modus operandi was always the same and he disposed of the bodies the same dropping his victims, often alive down an old mineshaft the locals believed to be bottomless and the gateway to hell.
