This poll was just a simple one, It's been something I've been thinking about a lot lately since I've been spending a lot of time mulling over how to improve the game itself, make it more interesting to play and working towards those improvements by the end of v0.10.

What do you personally think is more important in Terminal Desires? That the overall game itself is good? Or that the Story/Sex Scenes are good?

I guess I'm just trying to figure out how many players think there is inheritance value in improving the game's functionality, features and gameplay vs just pumping out more scenes faster. Just purely out of curiosity, since I'm not really planning on changing too much about what I have planned for the upcoming versions. Although it could be important feedback moving beyond that. To me, it's important that the game itself is good. Without it, I may as well just be making a visual novel which I personally find far less engaging...

The thing is, the overall game itself being good would include the sex scenes cause they are part of the game experience. Especially since a lot of the times you have to option to use sex as a way to get through encounters without wasting precious resources.

I picked game because I'm really into game dev stuff, but I think the ideal is to marry the two. Stuff like the new stealth system are good examples of what I'm talking about. Find ways to get sex and mechanics to interact and create an overall sexy and fun experience for players. Gameplay and sex stuff don't need to be separated like oil and water. I think this is part of why so many people are excited about the prospects of pregnancy and birthing, Tiffany growing bigger and then being able to get shrunk back down, addictions and fetishes affecting Tiffany's decision-making, etc...

I have seen sex oriented games with good scenes ruined by frustrating game mechanics which can ruin the whole experience. Terminal Desires does not have this problem, but I do think keeping the gameplay in mind is important. Its a balancing act, and both aspects are important in their own way. So far I have been happy with the balance TD has achived though, so keep up the good work and I look forward to your next release ;)

As Outlander says, the game play is great, and the only things I would add to the gameplay element is possible quick thinking mini game that would only come up at vital parts of the game that determine the ending etc. The gameplay already is great, with certain mechanics that are dont fix what isny broken basically. That being said, I favour scenes over gameplay if i had to choose one.

i think for now more scenes are more important. specally the repeating scenes sometimes take a bit to long and after seeing most Zombi scenes a few times people will likely skip.

Of course good scenes are really important ! But if the game isn't good, it might as well be a gallery.... Both are really important, but i think the game might be even more important, to stand out. TD is the best porn game i've played, and one of the few the really uses the RPGM engine, and it make it stand out even more than with the scenes in my opinion (even if they are friccking good too :) )

I think both are important. You're game is one of the best RPGM in the porn category and it's thanks to the scenes but also to the gameplay (choices to surrender or not during a fight, stealth, etc).

Its not a secret that I think that you spend "too much" time on gameplay at times. Not that I dont enjoy or appreciate the work you put in. But to be honest, what version do you think we would be at if you didnt spend time on stuff like flashlights and sneaking etc.? The gameplay is like the bread of the TD sandwich. Sometimes it feels like you are tying to make some artisinal sourdough masterpeice of a loaf, missing that we would have settled for a basic white loaf because the ham and cheese is so good. IMHO, focus more on the meat. I think I must be hungry, Ill just go make a sandwich now.

Sure, but in theory there’s no reason I couldn’t make It a good game even without any sex scenes if I worked on I for long enough. (though I wouldn’t since that would defeat the point) but yes, keeping things related is the best way of doing it, it seems.

Thanks. And absolutely, making every gameplay and story concept as sexual as possible is a part of my goal so that those who don’t care still have something to get excited about at least and it isn’t a complete waste of time.

You mean quick time events? Maybe there could be some use for those. I had a similar idea for something I was going to use for a special combat scene but didn’t get around to it yet.

Yes, the repeatable combat sex scenes are something I want to improve upon eventually with lots more variety, but for now, just getting the bare minimum is enough to get by while focusing on the bigger scenes. I say that, but v0.08 does have a lot of development focus on getting a bunch of these repeatable scenes ready for Tiff’s new bodies.

Thanks for the honesty. And I agree with you. I don’t think I would have added these aspects at this point in time if I had known how long they were going to take me. That being said, there aren’t too many more major gameplay additions that I have in beyond this point so hopefully it won’t be a problem beyond v0.08

Thanks to everyone for the kind words. I’m glad so many of you enjoy TD to that extent and think that I’m doing at least something right. Hopefully all the work will be worth it in the long run.
