August 2022 Sketches 17 - Shikamaru Nara (Naruto) (Patreon)

Here's a picture featuring Shikamaru Nara from the Naruto series. The idea was suggested by Shin.

"Shikamaru Nara from  Naruto - Shikamaru developed a new use for the Shadow Possession Jutsu: namely using it to bind and drain people of their chakra which allows him to grow bigger and stronger leading to him getting a bit addicted, going after as many people as he can. The bigger he gets, the longer his shadow spreads..."

What started as just experimenting from boredom, escalated to something much, MUCH bigger for Shikamaru. The young ninja was having a slow day, and he got so bored that training didn't seem like that much of a bad idea.

He's been reading about similar jutsu skills to his, the Shadow Possession jutsu, and he did find out that there was a way to steal other people's shakra by binding their shadows into his. 

Without further ado, he headed towards the most crowded place of Konoha, perfect place for some "harmless" training. He tried to be as subtle as possible, and luckily, his jutsu let him do that perfectly. He subtly did the proper hand gestures to send his shadow to bind into others, and started to do the mental excercises he read about that would let them drain the other person's chakra.

...It took him a few minutes of focus...but it did seem to work! As his body started to feel some kind oenergy coursing through his whole body. This must be the chakra he's absorbing from the other person. It felt kinda nice...like feeling the satisfaction from eating a very nutritious meal without having to eat it. "Just a little more..." he thought to himself, as he drained even more chakra from the person he binded into...not realizing that he was absorbing at a much faster rate now that he knew what he was doing. He only stopped when the person he was draining the chakra from passed out and flopped down into the ground.

Shikamaru, surprised at how he absorbed this person's chakra to the point of exhaustion, was about to get up. Not that he wanted to run away from the scene, since he also read that people recovered their drained chakra with some time and rest. But as he standing up, he noticed that his head reached the branches of the tree he was sitting under! As he looked up and down to see what was going on, not only his height changed, but his clothes were much more tighter than before! His previously slim body now filling up his clothes quite snuggle, leaving his pecs quite notable under the fabric.

He didn't remember seeing this kind of change from the books he read...but he didn't mind at all, if anything, he enjoyed the change quite a bit.

As he was standing up thinking to himself about the situation, some people were looking at him oddly, not remembering there being such a tall person in town before. Shikamaru was planning on leaving...but seeing how his shadow pretty much covered a bunch of people taht were watching him...it couldn't hurt to see if he could absorb the chakra of more than one person at a time~

And so, he did the gestures behind his back, looking away as if nothing was happening, while his shadow binded into the shadows of the people around him, and started the draining proccess again. And again, he could feel the energy coursing through his whole body, but this time much more potent, since he was absorbing the chakra of these people quite effectively! Those people not knowing what was going on, too tired to realize how the tall, young ninja was growing even further right before them...until the passed out as well. The distance between them and Shikamaru leaving him to seem innocent from his actions...and so, the passing out of those people called the attention of more villagers, gathering more people...and Shikamaru's growing form casting an even wider shadow than before, perfectly fitting many of the people that were gathering around him.

He didn't take too long to think about it, he just smirked as he looked down at them, and activated his draining jutsu once again, draining the chakra of the increasing amount of people that gathered around. The bigger he got, the bigger of chakra intake became, as his body literally was increasing its chakra capacity along with his size, making people pass out faster and faster...his body growing at a faster rate...and his shadow covering more and more area. The mix of confusion and exhaustion of the people made them unable to question whatever was going on, not to mention that some people were just minding their own business without knowing about the situation, and passed out out of nowhere from accidentally stepping into Shikamaru's shadow.

As Shikamaru grew further, he didn't question anything anymore, this was too much fun to stop, and just left his jutsu activated at all times, making people pass out the moment they were covered by his shadow pass out inmediatedly. No matter where they were, outside, between alleys, or even inside their homes, they fell victim to Shikamaru's shadow, leaving Konoha as a temporary ghost town with all the fainted people...the only active villager being this gargantuan young man who was greedily absorbing all the chakra of any nearby living being, and only growing even further...

As he reached the size of nearby mountains, he decided to make himself comfortable, as he laid down right next to the town, making the whole town and surroundings shake, sending a strong current of wind as he laid down, a bunch of birds flying away from the shaking trees. THe Hokage Rock looking more like a pebble compared to Shikamaru's mighty body. Didn't matter how he laid down, his shadow was still able to cover the whole town, and even more area as well. So might as well drain the rest of the chakra remaining in that place while lazing around. 

Who knows, if he feels like it, he might visit other towns to feed himself more, to the point he'll be able to eclipse the sun, and absorb the whole world's chakra. But that's just a fantasy...unless?? haha
