I think Peterson chooses to focus on issues other than racism when he's looking for explanatory factors and solutions to social problems, just as Glenn Loury and other conservatives tend to do. It's not that they don't believe racism exists and is a bad thing, they think it's not helpful (or "empowering") to focus on something you (personally) can't do much about; it's more helpful (for you, as an individual,) to focus on what you can do. Pretty ordinary conservative stuff. (Peterson's got nothing original to say so far as I've ever seen. I've never heard him say anything racist- but I don't follow him around, either.)

I highly recommend Nathan J Robinson’s article on Peterson in Current Affairs. He hits many of the same notes Joel does in this video.
