Greetings adventurers!

The wafting odors of freshly baked goods is sure to draw my attention wherever I may wander and today my nose did not lead me astray. I followed a particularly pungent aroma to the door of an unexpected shop. Our local alchemist and good friend of mine had been baking? I never took him for a baker. I stepped inside only to find that his daughter had taken over the shop, explaining her father had stepped out of town for a few days. She asked if I wanted to try the pie she was baking and knowing the family well, I knew to ask what was in it. It’s then that she told me about something rather marvelous.

Our patrons get early access to all of these items as well as additional formats that are easily usable in both physical and online play for D&D and Pathfinder 2E. Additionally they get high-res art exports, easy to use text exports, behind the scenes updates, and a lot more.

If that strikes your fancy, consider becoming a Patron

Design notes from Matthew:
Consumable items are an absolute blast to work on because you can really expand the bounds of what works within a system by just offering it as a one time bonus. When you give someone something permanent, well then they get to use it over and over and you better make sure of its balance and place in your world. A consumable though, you can give a bit more leeway and let things expand a little. In this case, I guess I took “consumable” a little literally.

For the 5E version, I think the most elegant way to approach things is with charges. I don’t always like developing things with charges in mind, but for something limited use, it tends to work out. Basically you consume the thing, get your uses and now you can go to town as you see fit. I wanted to allow for upcasting as well and expending more than one charge seemed like the best method to make that reasonable.

As for PF2E, well that’s a bit of a different system insofar as healing works and I didn’t want to dive into the intricacies of giving non-casters access to spellcasting even in a limited amount. I thought it was more straightforward to simply allow a pool of numbers to be shared that’s roughly equal to an appropriately leveled healing potion. Think of it like a healing potion you can split between you.

One of my favorite things is taking a turn of phrase and turning it into an item that’s usable for the games I play. It’s probably why we have so many pun based items. Often I come up with an idea and the name comes later, but in this case, the name absolutely informed the design and I’ll be real, I love writing that way.

We highly encourage you to join our Discord server where you’ll get access to exclusive channels that have sneak peeks, behind the scenes chatter, and more.
