Greetings adventurers!

I try not to mettle in the affairs of elemental beings. They’re just too temperamental I find. You know the fiery ones are all hotheaded. The stone ones are a bit too down to earth. The windy ones are all full of hot air. The moist ones are, well moist. I do recognize the effort that goes into working with them. This little treat came to our shop by way of one such inventor. Apparently he was attempting to devise a way to propel arrows with greater force, but it was just so finicky that he decided it might have another use, and right he was.

Our patrons get early access to all of these items as well as additional formats that are easily usable in both physical and online play for D&D and Pathfinder 2E. Additionally they get high-res art exports, easy to use text exports, behind the scenes updates, and a lot more.

Design notes from Matthew:
Alright, uncommon (in 5E) and low rarity (in PF2E)  have always had a special place in my heart when developing magic items. The simple fact of it is that I think they make you work a little harder in how to develop them. You see it’s a rather simple thing to just grant something more power, but it’s something entirely different to consider how a lower level item could benefit a person long into the future. That was the case with this one. I wanted to create something that was useful now, but could scale with a player as they grow.

When I was designing the 5E version of this, I knew that I could pretty much get away with having it launch most any poison, potion, or alchemical ingredient. There actually aren’t that many of them in the core game and they scale rather well with level. This made for a pretty easy design process. Fernando and I had a good bit of back and forth on how to handle the art and style of item, but ultimately it came together rather quickly.

For Pathfinder 2E there was a different set of concerns to contend with. Mostly that poisons are applied in all kind of ways. This meant that I had to approach the item differently. I’ve said before that I want to design good items for the system they’re in and not just try to cram an item in that doesn’t work. This meant stepping away from the poisons and focusing on potion consumables only. It worked out to be honest. I love having a useful item for each system.

We actually hadn’t created a crossbow before. Can you believe that? Fernando and I looked through our catalog recently and identified a few gaps that we’re going to attempt to close over the next few months. It’s exciting to get to design something new and we hope you enjoy the broader range of offerings.

We highly encourage you to join our Discord server where you’ll get access to exclusive channels that have sneak peeks, behind the scenes chatter, and more.
