One More Thing: Drudgemother (Patreon)

Greetings Adventurers,

The last in our line of Drudgework creations, the Drudgemother comes as the final piece of the puzzle for our line of Drudgework constructs. This core of the construct network is what ties all of the machines together. It's made to be a perfect boss fight if it goes a little rogue. You could bring in a lot of our other creations as part of the fight and make this a truly epic encounter for your players.

Design notes from Matthew:

Finally we get to bring you the thing that started the entire line of ideas when it comes to our Drudgework line. We had been brainstorming new content for the Bharzul theme and seeing the ability to make a set of creatures that filled out the automation of the town was just too good of an opportunity to pass. We came up with the Drudgemother first and have just been waiting to release it until we were ready to wrap up the series.

There's something special in creating a creature for a big boss fight. I like creating those options that give the player something big to contend with. That was the most exciting part of creating a boss creature for me. I like giving them ways to interact with the world in a somewhat unexpected manner. A good example of this would be summoning the network and suddenly getting swarmed with little bots ready to make your life hell.

I also love the concept that this construct wants to talk and learn. I think there's a lot of opportunity for folks to slowly see the insidious nature of this being if there is one. I think the best "big bad" is one you get to interact with a lot!

It's been great creating in this line of Drudgework constructs. We'll be moving on to other themes next month in our One More Thing, but more than likely staying within the Bharzul theme as we've got a lot more to say there!
